MUMBAI/HYDERABAD: Rajya Sabha member Chiranjeevi undergoes operation:: Sources said that actor turned politician and Rajya Sabha member K.Chiranjeevi undergone an operation at Breach Candy Hospital here for his hand. Sources said that he was suffering with pain on the hand. His wife Surekha was with him and doctors reportedly advised him to take two weeks’ rest. He will be back to Hyderabad only after he is fully medically fit.

GUNTUR: APSPDCL official lands in ACB:: The ACB officials found Rs.2 crore worth of assets during a raid at the residence of APSPDCL official K.Ravi Sekhar at Vidhyanagar of Guntur today. According to ACB Guntur DSP Ch.Devanand Santho, based on a tip-off conducted raid in his house and of his relatives and found Rs.1 to Rs.2 crore worth of illegal assets in Tenali, Nallapadu and Chirala.

HYDERABAD:Bengaluru City Railway Station renamed as “Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna” Railway Station:: The existing name of “Bengaluru City” Railway Station of Bangalore Division, South Western Railway is changed as “Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna” Railway Station with immediate effect.

Sunkari Ramakrishna Rao is the new VC of Krishna University:: The Andhra Pradesh state government today appointed Sunkari Ramakrishna Rao, former professor of Andhra University as Vice-Chancellor of Krishna Devarya University, Machilipatnam for a period of three years.

Tuni violence – CID takes over probe:: Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department will take over all the 70 cases related to Sunday’s violence over reservations of Kapus at Tuni except booked by Railway Protection Force. CID officials already carrying out investigation in Tuni and CID Additional DG Tirumala Rao is camped in Tuni based on the investigation given by DGP J.V.Ramudu.

TIRUMALA: Brahmotsava bonus to TTD employees:: The TTD Executive Officer Dr. D.Sambasiva Rao on Thursday written a letter to the Government to offer the Brahmotsava Bahumanam to the employees of TTD as decided during its Trust Board meetings. The State Government sent a circular recently to the TTD EO to pay only Rs.10,000 to permanent employees and Rs.5,000 to contract staff as against TTD board decision to pay Rs.12,250 for permanent employees and Rs.6,100 to contract employees. In his letter, the EO asked the government to pay bonus as per the Board decision.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Vijaya Bank adopts girl student:: In line with corporate social responsibility activities, Vijaya Bank has adopted a girl child studying in one of the government schools, Anakapalle. Bank Executive Director B.S.Rama Rao and Regional Manager P.Srinivasa Reddy said that the bank intends to take care of the educational needs of the child by providing Rs.5,000 every year till Class XII and Rs.10,000 annually to complete graduation. The first demand draft was presented to the girl today.

Expand operations to provide jobs in a big way:: Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu urged the Group Chief Operating Officer of HSBC Plc Andy Maguire to expand their operations in the city in a big way to provide jobs to at least 10,000 people. He handed over the keys to some of the beneficiaries of Peddabidda village of Anantagiri mandal of the district whose houses were rebuilt jointly by HSBC and Habitant for Humanity India post Hudhud cyclone at a programme organized at the Global Service Centre of HSBC here today.

Interim Vice Chancellor appointed for Andhra University:: Prof.E.A.Narayana, has been appointed as in-charge VC of Andhra University and assumed charge today following the retirement of GSN.Raju. Raju has handed over the order to Prof.Narayana.
