AMARAVATI:Boating ride free on booking of rooms in Tourism hotels :: Rs.500 worth of boating coupons will be given free to those who book hotel rooms in Bhavanidweepam and Punnami hotels that are being run by the tourism department. This was stated by the Manager of Bhavanidweepam Sridhar in a statement. The tourists can have a boating ride in Bhavanidweepam boats that are being conducted by Champion Yatch Club. The rentals for AC rooms is Rs.2,720, Treetop cottage is Rs.1,920 and non AC room is Rs.1,710.

ANANTAPUR: PHCs get 24 doctors:: Out of 429 candidates who applied for medical officer posts in PHCs in the district only 46 were selected and only 24 candidates have attended the counselling. All the 24 were given appointment letters on Monday. All those who were given appointment letters will have to attend for duties within a week.

HYDERABAD: High Court dismisses Dalmia Cements’ MD plea:: Justice Vilas V.Afzulpurkar of Hyderabad High Court on Monday dismissed the writ petition filed by the Managing Director of Dalmia Cements Punith Dalmia challenging the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate in connection DA cases pertaining to Jagan Mohan Reddy. He challenged the summons by the ED under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act to appear before the investigating officials. The Judge citing Supreme Court judgements dismissed the petition.

Nagari MLA Roja petition adjourned::The writ petition filed by YSRCP Nagari MLA R.K.Roja who was suspended for one year from Assembly was adjourned to March 9, 2016. Justice Sanjay Kumar granted time to the Secretary to file the counter affidavit. It may be recalled that the MLA was suspended after the House passed a resolution after an acrimonious debate on the floor of the House on the call money racket.

Music director Chakri’s mother and brother undertakes deeksha:: The deceased Tollywood music director Chakri who left the world one and a half year’s ago, the family still is in disputes and controversies. Vidyavati, mother of Chakri and his brother has undertaken deeksha in protest against one Madhavi who is a tenant residing at Varun Sargam villa for not vacating and causing problems to them. They said that they are still paying the loan amount due and added the tenant Madhavi is not paying rent to them for the last eight months.

Krishna Pushkarams from August 12:: The Endowments department has announced that the Krishna Pushkarams will begin from August 12 and a notification has been issued by the Principal Secretary J.S.V.Prasad after consulting the TTD Astana Siddanti Tangirala Venka Krishna Poorna. On August 11 night at 9.21, Bruhaspati star will enter in Kanya Rasi and the pushkarams will begin on the early hours of August 12. The pushkarms will come to an end on August 23, 2016.

KAKINADA: EAMCET 2016 – Two regional centres set up::The Andhra Pradesh State Government has established two regional centres in Hyderabad for the AP EAMCET-2016 scheduled to be held on April 29, 2016. Convener of EAMCET Ch. Sai Babu in a statement said that the regional centres were established following instructions from AP State Council for Higher Education. The centres were established in Hyderabad Zone-A and Hyderabad Zone-B. The test centres were set up for the convenience of the students willing to appear for the examination in Hyderabad. Candidates who have already submitted their applications and inclined to change their regional centre must upload their option only on the mentioned dates from March 2 to 4, said the release.

TIRUPATI: 21 held in an attempt to theft idol case:: The Tirupati urban police have arrested 21 persons in connection with the recent attempt to steal the idol from a temple at Yerpedu mandal of Chittoor district and seized three vehicles and mobile phones form them. Tirupati urban SP Gopinath Jatti producing them before media said that the attempt was take away ancient treasure such as diamonds believed to have been put inside the idol of Lord Ganesh at the temple. The incident took place on January 30, 2016 and the accused tried to remove the idol at midnight with the help of iron chain hooked to a tipper lorry. However, the chain broke with a loud noise and hearing it, the villagers rushed to the temple. They lodged a complaint with the police.

TTD to release Arjit Seva tickets:: TTD will release visesha Arjitha Seva tickets on Tuesday. Under current booking Archana-10, Subrabhatam-100, Kalyanotsvam -100, Sahasrakalasabhishekam -25 are available. Devotees who got the tickets have to report before 8pm. The cost of archana is Rs.220, Subrabhatam is Rs.120, Kalyanotsvam is Rs.1,000 and Sahasrakalasabhishekam is put at Rs.850.
