  • Tirupati:: Silver throne offered to Kodandarama Swamy:: The temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams offered a silver plated throne with a teak wood frame worth Rs.53 lakh to the temple of Sri Kodandarama Swamy in Tirupati on Monday. The throne prepared with 127.450 kg of silver by the jewellery section of TTD’s Old Huzur Office was handed over to the temple officials, after performing special rituals.
  • Srikakulam:: 30 CITU activists held:: As many as 30 activists of CITU were arrested o Monday in Srikakulam when they were agitating at Collector’s office seeking regularization of contract workers of the Electricity Department. CITU State vie-president D.Govinda Rao alleged that the government was dilly-dallying over regularization of contract workers. He said that ruling TDP promised their regularization during 2014 elections but was not fulfilled.
  • Vijayawada:: Japanese team visits State Legislature:: A Japanese team led by Hiraki Daisaku, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry visited the AP Legislative Council at Velagapudi today. APCRDA Special Commissioner V.Rama Manohara Rao and chief engineer M.Zachariah took the visitors around the Legislature Complex and the Secretariat according to a release.
  • Vizianagaram:: Ashok Gajapathi Raju completes of 40 years of service as public representative:: Several leaders of the TDP today congratulated Union Civil Aviation Minister P.Ashok Gajapathi Raju for completing 40 years of service as public representative. He who was elected in the AP Assembly in 1978 on the Janata Party ticket had continuously represented Vizianagaram barring 2004 elections when he tasted the defeat first tie. He won in 2009 though the TDP was confined in the Opposition. He held many portfolios such as the Excise, the Commercial Taxes and the Revenue in the TDP governments. For the first time he elected for MP seat in 2014 and became a Minister in the Union Cabinet.
