ELURU: AgriGold Vice-Chairman and two others arrested:: The CID police today arrested three more accused in the AgriGold inter-State scam. The arrested include AgriGold Farm Estates Private Ltd. Vice-Chairman Gummadi Sadasiva Vara Prasad, AgriGold Constructions Private Ltd. MD Kamireddy Seetaramachandra Rao and Pathan Lal Ahmed Khan, MD of Dream Land Ventures Private Ltd., They were produced at Eluru court and were remanded to 14 days judicial custody. CID officials filed a petition in the court seeking four day custody of the three accused.

HYDERABAD: Drug companies raided:: The Drug Control Administration of Telangana conducted raids n at least a dozen premier drug companies in the city in the last two days allegedly for using poor quality Chinese made anti-cancer drug ‘Vincristine’ as an active pharmaceutical ingredient in their units. DCA Director Akun Sabharwal said that the raids were conducted in the last two days on the units of the firms –Hetero Labs, Dr.Reddys Labs, Natco Pharma, MSN Labs, Shilpa Medicare, Larus Labs, SP Accura Labs, Celon Labs and Therdose Formulations following complaints that anti-cancer drug imported from China is of poor quality.

Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Plant will be dedicated to Nation:: Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Plant in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore distict will be dedicated to the Nation on February 27. Union Ministers Peeyush Goel, Venkaiah Naidu along with the Chief Minister will participate in the function. Top officials from power sector are camping in making efforts in this direction.

Medaram Jatara begins:: Medaram a village in the dense forests of Eturunagaram in Warangal district was flooded with people for the popular Sammakka Sarakka Jatara today. It was a sea of humanity. RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: All Post-Graduate colleges and professional colleges to ANUR: The Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education has issued orders affiliating all post-graduate and professional colleges to Adikavi Nannayya University (ANUR) from the academic year 2016-2017. Andhra University has also given its consent for transferring the colleges to ANUR.

SRIKAKULAM: Hit and run case-inquiry ordered:: District Collector P.Lakshmi Narasimham asked the Superintendent of Police A.S.Khan to submit a report to him over the incident that took place on the night of February 12 when a speeding car hit two persons near new Nagavali Bridge. One student Dasari Vidyadhara Rao died while undergoing treatment at RIMS while his relative Viswanath’s condition is said to be serious for the last two days. On the day of the incident, a few onlookers chased the vehicle and caught the official and he produced in RIMS to verify whether if he was drunk. Sources said that the liquor lobby that tried to save the official and introduced another person as the driver of the vehicle.

VISAKHAPATNAM: India-Myanmar sign SOP on joint patrol:: Fourth edition of India-Myanmar Coordinated Patrol was conducted jointly by ships of both navies along the International Maritime Boundary Line in the Andaman Sea. During the closing ceremony of the IMCOR, the standard operating procedure for IMCOR was also signed between Indian Navy and Myanmar Navy. Cmde Atul Anand from Indian Navy and Cmde Anug Zaw Hlaing form Myanmar Navy signed the document in the presence of Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Gautam Mukhopadhaya. This is the third country with which India has singed a formal agreement for maritime coordinated patrols.

All Post Offices will go online’, says Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad:: As part of computerization of over 1.6 lakh post offices across the country, all the post offices in the State will be computerized with online facility on priority basis, said the Union Minister for Communication, IT and Postal Services Ravi Shankar Prasad. He said that an exclusive telephone exchange would be set up at Amaravati. He said the same while he was laying a foundation stone for SAMEER here on Thursday.

Petro University come up:: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gases has in a statement said that the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy will be established in Visakhapatnam. The classes would be commenced for the year 2016-17 said the release. It said that it entered into an MoU with Andhra University on February 4 for maintenance of the University.

‘Government would allow to be a hideout for anti-social elements’, says Chandrababu:: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that the government would not allow a peaceful city like Visakhapatnam a hideout for anti-social elements. He said the same in a reference to two anti-socials from a hideout in the city on the eve of International Fleet Review along with a firearm and 35 bullets. He participated at a meeting organized in connection with the foundation stone lying for R&D lab of SAMEER and MoU signing between VUDA and STPI for an incubation tower. MSMEDCI to open office:: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation of India (MSMEDCI) will open its central office at Pedda Rushikonda here on March 4 according to its chairman B.V.Rama Rao. Speaking at a press conference, he said that RBI Governor and SIDBI CMD and other top officials were invited for the inaugural function.

Jagan Mohan Reddy participates in ‘Mahakumbabhishekam:: YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy participated in the ‘Mahakumbabhishekam organized on the occasion of the five day annual celebrations of Sri Sarada Peetham at China Mushidiwada today. Head of the Peetham Swamy Swaroopanandedra Sarasawati said that Mahakumbabhishekam was conducted to mark the completion of 12 years of the installation of the idols of Sri Vallidevasena Sametha Sri Subramanya Swamy and Sri Dasanjaneya Swamy at the Peetham premises.

VIJAYAWADA: AP Madigas meet:: The opposition groups to MRPS founder Manda Krishna Madiga gathered here on Thursday and demanded him not to intervene in the issues related to Andhra Pradesh. They also raised slogans against Krishna Madiga when he proposed to organize a massive meeting. Besides, they also said that they would conduct a meeting at Vijayawada city on April 20 in a big way. The leaders demanded the government to pass the resolution in favour of SC categorization in the forthcoming Assembly sessions. The government should also take a delegation to the Prime Minister on the issues.

AP Medical Council inaugurated at Dr.NTR Health University:: AP Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas on Thursday inaugurated the office of the AP Medical Council on the premises of Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the DME will be shifted by June 2, he said. Ultrasound medical tests to the pregnant women would be made free of cost from March 8, he added.

Health University comes up at Rs.2,500 crore:: AMRUIT will be establishing a health university in Amaravati at a cost of Rs.2,500 crore. It also included establishing of 2,250 bed multi-super specialty hospital, research and health care. The representatives of Amruit held discussions with the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu today.

Applications invited for setting up mega and mini Food Parks:: Andhra Pradesh Food Processing Society CEO Y.S.Prasad in a press release said that it is inviting applications from companies and individuals for setting up of mega and mini food parks in the State. The last date for submitting the applications is March 17. The mega food park will be set up in 50 acres of land and the State Government will extend Rs.50 crore in the form of subsidies and integrated food park will be set up in 30 acres with Rs.20 crore, he said.
