Tirupati:: D.Damodar Naidu elevated as vice-chairman of TCC:: D.Damodar Naidu, member of Tirupati Chamber of Commerce (TCC) has been made as the vice-chairman of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry comprising Chittoor, Nellore, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapuram districts in recognition of the awareness and motivational drives conducted by the TCC in the recent times.
Tirupati:: Five killed as tipper rams auto:: Five persons were killed on the spot when the auto rickshaw by which they were travelling collided head on with a tipper at Buchi Naidu Kandiriga today. The incident occurred when the passengers were returning home after offering prayers at Sri Kalahasteeswara Temple. The bodies were retrieved from the badly mangled vehicle. The deceased were identified as auto driver Venkataramana, passengers Rama Rao, Kumari, Anantha and Bindu. The bodies were taken to Srikalahasti area hospital. Three more passengers sustained injuries.
Kurnool:: Muslim leaders call for united struggle:: Muslim leaders today underscored the need for forging unity among members of the community irrespective of their political affiliations in order to achieve their rights and resolve their problems on the social, economic, educational and political fronts. At a round-table organized by the AP Muslim Council at a function hall in Kadapa, Muslim Council president P.Khasim Khan said Muslims should set aside their political affiliations and unite to fight for their rights. United AP had 40 Muslim MLAs but their number dwindled to 10 after bifurcation of the State. They called for formulating a struggle to ensure due representation of Muslims in education, employment and political arena.
