CHIRALA: Auto driver dies in lock up:: An auto driver died while in police custody when they are interrogating in a case related to theft case. The family members of the deceased alleged that he was taken into custody a three days ago and died due to use of third degree by the cops. They demanded a case be booked against the police and demanded a judicial inquiry. They staged protests at Chira Area hospital mortuary resulting in the stoppage of autopsy. However, police said that he was taken into custody for interrogation and during the course, he suffered fits and immediately rushed to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. Chirala MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan rushed to the site and demanded a judicial inquiry.

HYDERABAD: Justice Ramayyagari Subash Reddy given farewell:: The Hyderabad High Court acting Chief Justice Dilip Baba Saheb Bhosale along with other justices have given a grand farewell to the outgoing Justice Ramayyagari Subash Reddy who was appointed as Chief Justice of High Court, Gujarat. The twin States Advocate Generals K.Ramakrishna Reddy, P.Venugopal Reddy recalled the services he rendered. Acting Chief Justice Dilip Baba Saheb Bhosale wished him to all the best and wanted to scale heights. Responding to the felicitations, Subash Reddy thanked all those who helped him in discharging his duties.

K.Chandrasekhara Rao is the Vemulavada Temple Development Authority Chairman :: The Telangana State Government has issued orders appointing the Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao as the Chairman of Vemulavada Temple Development Authority while retired IAS Officer M.Purushottam Reddy as Vice-Chairman and CEO. Karimnagar MP, Vemulavada, Siricilla MLASs, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration Principal Secretary, Finance, Endowments, Town Planning Director, Karimnagar District Collector and SP and Karimnagar DFO will be the members along with six special invites. The State Government has allotted Rs.100 crore for the development. The government has given green signal for appointment of 14 staff members on temporary basis.

Assistant Conservator of Forests in ACB net:: The officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested Gopi Ravi, Assistant Conservator of Forests-cum-curator of Nehru Zoological Park when he was allegedly receiving Rs.75,000 as bribe form a contractor. The officials have recovered the amount from the table drawer in his chambers on the Zoo premises. Gopi Ravi has demanded the money from a contractor Jagannath Reddy for release the Earnest Money Deposit and Further Security Deposit he had paid for the works executed during 2009-2013.

NELLORE: Bhanu Teja arrested in the suicide case of Asst. Professor Madhavi:: In the Assistant Professor Veera Madhavi (28) suicide case, the police have arrested her lover Bhanu Teja today. It may be recalled that s she has committed suicide by taking a selfie narrating her horrible experiences before committing suicide. She was working at a private college as Assistant professor in Mathematics.

VIJAYAWADA: Miss AP on February 14:: The Miss AP will be held in the open ground of Siddhartha College of Hotel Management at Mogulrajpuram on February 14 and the event is being held by Sri Sai Creative Entertainments. Si Gottipati of Sri Sai Creative Entertainments said at a press conference that they have short listed finalists from independent fashion shows conducted in Vijayawada, Guntur, Nellore, West Godavari, Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam cities in the past. He said film actor Brahmanandam, comedy actor Ali, actress Poonam Kaur, D. Avanindra Kumar of Pranayama Yog and model and upcoming actor Margani Bharath will judge the performances of the participants.

VISAKHAPATNAM: T-20 tickets sale form Thursday:: The tickets for T-20 cricket match between India and Sri Lanka to be played at ACA-VDCA stadium will commence at Mee Seva Centres in the city on Thursday morning. A total of 12,000 tickets would be sold, with the sale of 5,900 tickets of Rs.600 denomination and 2,000 tickets of Rs.300 tickets to be taken up on Thursday, Joint Collector J. Nivas informed on Wednesday.
