TS projects spell doom for Godavari delta

Rajamahendravaram :: State convener of the YSRCP farmer’s wing MVS Nagi Reddy wonders how can the government go for the cofferdam and give water through gravity without completing the spillway of the dam. Speaking to media, he said Telangana was racing ahead to complete lift irrigation projects upstream to provide water to 50 lakh acres and warned that the Godavari delta would be in trouble if the State failed to complete the Polavaram project before that.

Raghuveera to campaign for TDP if HNSS completed by 2019

Anantapur:: APCC president N.Raghuveera Reddy today said he would canvass for the TDP if it ensured the completion of the Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanti project before the 2019 elections. He accused the government of failing to promote the Telugu culture in general and that of the Rayalaseema region in particular by not choosing to celebrate the 507th anniversary of the coronation of Sri Krishnadevaraya. ‘If the government gives water to all the tanks, we will campaign for the TDP and will seek votes for the TDP and the Congress will not field a candidate to oppose it’, he said.

Railway employee pushed to death from train

Vijayawada:: A railway employee, Ratna Raju (40) died when he was allegedly pushed out of a running train near Tenali in Guntur district on Friday. The accused, Venkata Rao, was taken into custody by GRP and investigation is on. Sources said that Raju, who works as sanitation staff in Tenali boarded Gudur-Vijayawada passenger. The accused boarded the train at Chirala and they had a quarrel and in a fit of range, Venkata Rao allegedly pushed Raju from the train.

Paramedical courses’ web counselling from Saturday

Vijayawada:: Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences announced that the web options for 2nd and final phase of web-based counselling for admission to B.Sc (nursing), 4 year degree/post basic B.Sc. (Nursing), 2 year degree in physiotherapy and B.Sc. (lab technician) courses in government and private colleges affiliated to it have to be exercised from 2pm on December 9 to 5pm on December 11. Candidates whose names figure in the final merit list will be displayed after verification of original certificates along are eligible to exercise the options and can be had on http://wwww.paramed.apntruhs.in
