AITAM courses get NBA accreditation

Srikakulam:: National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi issued orders to give NBA accreditation for three courses offered by Aditya Institute of Technology and Management at Tekkali in the district. The departments such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering courses would have the NBA status till June 30, 2020.

Minister reviews Janmabhoomi arrangements

Vizianagaram:: Minister for Mines Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao has said that the objective of the fifth phase of Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru programme scheduled from January 2 to 11 is to enlighten people on the government’s welfare schemes. At a review meeting with MLAs, MLCs, and officials today evening, he said that in addition to organising gram sabha in each panchayat, there would be cultural shows and competitions in sports. On January 7, he said 5 K run would be organised in all Assembly constituencies.

IMA award for psychiatrist

Rajamahendravaram:: Psychiatrist Karri Rama Reddy has been presented the IMA’s Academy of Medical Specialities Award for the year 2017. Addressing the media here on Saturday, Dr.Reddy said he received the award during the annual conference of the IMA in Mumbai on December 29.

Minister Kollu Ravindra seeks ST status for fisherfolk

Vijayawada:: Minister for Law and Justice Kollu Ravindra has appealed to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to categorise the traditional fisherfolks as Scheduled Tribes. In a meeting here today, he said the ST status would help the government give some extra benefits to the fisherfolks as they were in the dire straits.

Officials inspects progress of capital roads

Vijayawada:: Amaravati Development Corporation CMD D.Lakshmi Parthasarathy today inspected the progress of construction of three roads at Lingayapalem, Borupalem, Thullur and Penumaka in Guntur district. She instructed the officials to complete the works at the earliest and to provide buffer zones for raising greenery along the rods.
