’Kapu reservation was not detrimental to BCs’, says Chief Minister

Vijayawada:: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today said that the BCs need not be under the impression that Kapu reservation was detrimental to them. At a teleconference with the MLCs and MLAs, he said the party’s rank and file should have proper coordination on issues at stake as a concerted effort would be made to corner the government. He said by getting a resolution on the Kapu reservation passed in the Assembly, the TDP proved its commitment to fulfil the promises and reiterated that he never considered BCs or Kapus as vote banks.

Chief Minister leaves for South Korea

Vijayawada:: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his team left for South Korea today. The Chief Minister’s schedule begins at 5.45am with a meeting with Indian Ambassador Vikram Doraiswamy. Later, the team would meet representatives of Kia Motors ancillary companies.. He would meet Dasan Network Chairman MinWoo Nam at 6.50am. He would also meet the CEOs of IriTech and Lotte Corporation. The key objective of the visit is signing of two MoUs with Kia Motors ancillaries, visit to KIA Motors headquarters. Two major roadshows will also be organised in South Korea apart from a visit to Pusan Newport Company, Nok-san National Industrial Complex and Myeongji Free Economic Zone.

YSRCP senior leader M.Subramanyam Reddy quits party

Chittoor:: YSRCP senior leader and former ZP Chairman M.Subramanyam Reddy today quit the party. He was a close associate of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy had unsuccessfully contested against Chandrababu Naidu for three consecutive terms as Congress candidate from Kuppam till 2009. In a press release issued on Sunday, Subramanyam Reddy observed that he was forced to quit the party as he was unable to bear the humiliation from the party leaders particularly the Punganur MLA and general secretary Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy.

Chief Minister will brief farms on land for Port

Machilipatnam:: Minister of Law, K.Ravindra today promised to facilitate a meeting of farmers with Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu to discuss the package offered for the proposed to be gathered for the Machilipatnam Port. ‘A meeting with the farmers and Krishna district Collector B.Lakshmikantam will be conducted in this week to select the group of farmers to be briefed by the Chief Minister on land pooling, he said. On the passing of Bill of including Kapu community in the list of BCs, he said that it was passed in consultation with legal experts and after taking into consideration all aspects.

Hockey tourney in Machilipatnam

Minister for Law and Sports K.Ravindra today released the logo of the AP 8th senior and 6th sub-junior (women) hockey championship to be held from December 7. Hockey Krishna district will conduct the four-day inter-district championship at the National College grounds here. At least 350 players will participate in the championship.

Kapu reservation Bill sent to Centre

Srikakulam:: The Bill that was passed in the Assembly on the issue of Kapus including in the list of BCs has been sent to the Centre said Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao. Speaking to pressmen here at R&B guest house, he said that the Centre’s approval is necessary as the stipulated reservation has crossed 50%. He said that BC-F category has been created to give 5% reservations to the Kapus and no injustice would be done to BCs, he said.
