Court delivers judgement in Telugu

Ongole:: Drawing inspiration from the World Telugu Conference’s call for greater use of the language, Prakasam district principal judge M.G.Priyadarshini has delivered a judgement in Telugu. The judge dismissed a bail plea of an accused in a case. She also passed an order in Telugu allowing an appeal relating to the Essential Commodities Act. Language lovers lauded the initiative.

Three year jail for irrigation employee in graft case

Vizianagaram:: Ganji Lakshmu Naidu, a senior assistant in the irrigation department at Parvathipuram who was found guilty in the disproportionate assets case in February 2008 by the ACB, was sentenced to three years imprisonment and fined Rs.1 lakh by G.Gnana Suvarna Raju, judge of the ACB court in Visakhapatnam today according to a release.

Convict commits suicide in Kadapa prison

Kurnool:: A convict in a cheating case, Srinivasa Reddy (40) of Guntur district who was under a ten month jail sentence, committed suicide by hanging himself in his barrack in the Kadapa Central Prison today. The victim who completed three months of the sentence hanged himself using a lungi said jail officials. He was rushed to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in an unconscious state where he died while undergoing treatment.

Ganta Srinivasa Rao asked to ensure smooth conduct of DSC-2018

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao today asked officials to ensure smooth conduct of DSC-2018 and release the orders to the selected candidates by June 12. He discussed the possibilities of the conduct of the DSC-2018 by the APPSC with the commission’s Chairman Udaya Bhaskar. He said that officials of the allied departments should work in coordination to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.
