Land acquisition for outer ring road
The land acquisition will be taken up for undertaking ring-road around the new state Capital Amaravati said the Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana. He said that 7,784 acres are to be acquired for laying of 210 km or ring road. He said that the State Capital draft Master Plan will be received by December 29. The plots will be allotted to the farmers who have parted with their lands.
Jagan meets President Pranab
YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy today called on the President of India Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Nilayam. Sources said that he had brought four important issues to the notice of the president. The issues mentioned included the suspension of party MLA Roja, Call money sex racket, Special Category Status, Bauxite mining.

Former AP Speaker Suresh Reddy said that the suspension of YSRCP MLA Roja for a period of one year is against democratic spirit though they were saying it was done in accordance with democratic procedures. Referring to Karanam Balaram suspension, he said that it has no comparison with the present suspension. However he said that the action of the Assembly decision is final.
Purandeswari seeks slapping of ‘Nirbhaya Case’ against call money organizers
BJP leader and former Union Minister D.Puraneswari responding over call money racket demanded the government to slap ‘Nirbhaya Cases’ against those involved in the racket. It may be recalled that the call money racket surfaced in Vijayawada and the involvement of TDP MALs, MLCs have surfaced invites demands from opposition for stringent action against them.
Actor Ranganath cremated
The final rites of actor Ranganath who committed suicide on Saturday was performed by his son Nagendra at Bansilalpet crematorium today. Family members, film personalities and his fans attended the funeral.
Debt trapped tenant farmer commits suicide
A debt trapped tenant farmer Edeti Rambabu (55) a native of Vetapalem near Samalkot consumed pesticide at his house on the night of December 10 died while undergoing treatment at Government General Hospital here today. He was a tenant farmer and had borrowed Rs.15 lakh from several people to meet the input costs for agriculture. After he had returned the land to the owner recently, he could not find any other source of income to repay the debt according to police.
Private bus overturns leaving nine injured
A private bus running between Mandapeta and Kapileswarapuram overturned and fell into an agriculture field on Sunday evening at Suryaraopeta village near Alamuru in which nine passengers were injured. The bus driver suffered serious injuries and there were 40 passengers on board at the time of accident according to police. The injured were shifted to hospital. The police said the driver lost control of the bus when he attempted to lift mobile phone and hit a road side culvert.
AP Archaka Samakhya hails Supreme Court judgment
The Andhra Pradesh State Archaka Samakhya on Sunday hailed the recent verdict of Supreme Court on appointment of priests as per Agama Sastrs. A resolution was passed by the Association. The president and organizing secretaries have recalled that the fundamental rights to freedom of religion is not fined to doctrines and beliefs but extends to essential practices done in pursuance of that faith and held that appointment of archakas in Tamil Nadu temples as per restrictions prescribed by the age old Agamas is not a violation of the right to equality. The Association appealed the State Government to follow the apex court judgement and made it clear that they wree not against the freedom of religion.

APERC Chairman Justice G.Bhavani Prasad said energy efficient fans would be distributed to willing consumers as part of Domestic Efficient Fans Programme (DEFP). Speaking at the valedictory of the National Energy Conservation Week organized by EPDCL, he said conservation of energy and its efficient use was to be followed as the fundamental objective of every citizen. Justice Prasad said that third party inspections were being conducted to ascertain the effectiveness of distribution of LED bulbs.
2019 National Games – APOA to make a bid
Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association office bearer K.Pattabhi Ram said that the official bid would be made on behalf of Andhra Pradesh for hosting the 2019 National Games by handing over Rs.50 lakh to the Indian Olympic Association in the annual general body meeting to be held at Guwahati on December 23, 2015.
VRAs seize the residence of Irrigation Minister
Demanding for immediate solvation of their problems, the striking VRAs have seized the residence of Minister for Irrigation Devineni Umamaheswara Rao. Aware of their plan, the minister left the house for inspection of Agriculture Market Yard. The police present there have dispersed the agitating VRAs. The leaders said that they would continue agitation till the government hiked their wages.
Police denies permission for CPM padayatra in against Greenfield Airport
Bhu Hakkula Parirakshana Porata Samithi planned to undertake padayatra on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in against establishing of Greenfield Airport here. The police have denied permission for the ‘pada yatra’. The police have arrested the leaders early in the morning and also deployed heavy police force at the concerned airport affected villages. The police took some of its leaders into custody and shifted them to police station.
