Daggubati Purandeswari faults the State on Polavaram Project

Kurnool:: Former Union Minsiter Daggubati Purandeswari today accused the TDP government of not cooperating with the Centre in its endeavour to complete the Polavaram project at the earliest. Speaking at Emmiganur in the district, she alleged that the State government was misleading Centre with regard to the project. She said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had told her that the Union government was doing everything to complete the project in the stipulated time.

Nara Lokesh approaches Google’s Nest

Vijayawada:: IT Minster Nara Lokesh on the second day of his tour in the US met Marwan Fawaz, CEO of Google’s Nest, a home automation technology company. He visited the Nest at San Francisco and discussed a range of issues with Fawaz according to a release. He sought the support of Nest to establish face recognition technology for security and surveillance purposes in the State. Fawaz assured support to the State and said they were interested in designing products are per the requirements of the State, the release said.

Elderly man burnt alive in fire accident

Vizianagaram:: An 80 year old man of Kannam village in Dattirajeru mandal burnt alive when the thatched hut he lived in caught fire in the early hours today. According to police, due to severe cold, the old man kept a ‘Chula’ under his cot and slept. Splinters form the ‘Chula’ caused the fire. Investigation is on.
