Vijayawada:: The State government will supply sugar and red gram from January through Fair Price Shops in the State. Minister for Civil Supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao speaking to media said that half kg sugar would be supplied at all fair price shops. The government is thinking of supplying 5 kg and 10kg rice packet at fair price shops to ration card holders. Whole red gram and whole yellow gram produced in the State would be supplied under Chandranna kanuka to the cardholders.
Atmakuru:: An AgriGold agent V.Venkataramana (47) who had got deposited from some customers to the tune of Rs.1.50 crore died due to severe stress. The incident took place at Atmakur in Sriramulu Nellore district. Sources said that the customers used to pressurize him for the refund of the deposits they made in the company. He fell ill following the delay in settlement by the State government. He was shifted to Chennai for medical treatment and died while undergoing treatment. AgriGold agents sought the police protection to them.
Tirupati:: CPI State secretary Madhu has demanded the investigating agencies ACB and CBI to conduct raids on the political leaders. Speaking after extending support to the agitating BSNL employees strike, he questioned why the investigating agencies are not touching the MLAs, MPs and other peoples’ representatives who were involving in crores of rupees scams.

After inaugurating the new building today at the office of the DGP in Mangalagiri, he said that the government could arrest land mafia and caste based differences. Stringent actions are being taken on those smuggling ganja and justice would be done to the depositors of AgriGold victims. He said that he would speak with the college managements on the deaths of students in corporate colleges. He congratulated the police personnel for their excellent job in arresting illegal and anti-social elements despite lack of staff.
Etikoppaka:: The police have arrested a fake Sub Inspector claiming himself as SI belonging to NIA of Central Intelligence Wing. The fake SI is identified as Boyana Suresh was earning money by making settlements in merged mandals in East Godavari and Bhadrachalam. Etikoppaka SI Nagaraju who extended his support to the accused was sent on VR by the Superintendent of Police.
