Two quarry workers die after rock falls on them

Vizianagaram:: Two workers at a manganese mine at Bankuruvalasa in Bobbili mandal were killed on the spot when a loose rock fell on them from atop the quarry today. The workers were identified as Maradana Venkata Rao (35) and Lokini Anjaiah (55). The workers were engaged by the quarry owners to pump out stagnated water with a motor at the bottom of the quarry said Bobbili DSP. Minister for Mines RVSK Ranga Rao and District Collector Vivek Yadav visited the spot and ordered an inquiry in the incident.

BNYS examination results announced

Vijayawada:: Dr.NTR University of Health sciences that conducted BNYS (Naturopathy) examination in last November, the results of which were announced today. The candidates seeking for re-totalling and personal verification has to pay a fee of Rs.500 per paper by December 26 said Controller of Examinations Dr.D.Vijaya Kumar. The candidates who applied for the same can attend with the identity card and hall ticket on December 30 at 11am.. Results can be had on http://www.ntruhs.ap.nic.in.

House Rent Allowance hiked

The State government has hiked the house rent allowance to the employees working in Srikakulam, Machilipatnam and Chittoor from 14.5 per cent to 20 per cent. This will come into effect from January 1, 2018.
