Rampachodavaram:: MLC T.Ratnabai today urged the government to bestow ancestral forest rights on tribal people. Addressing the World Adivasi Day, she said the U.N. had made a detailed study of the life style, living conditions and other aspects of the tribal people and called upon all the countries to protect them for posterity. Vijayawada:: CPI State secretary K.Ramakrishna today said his party would approach the Election Commission seeking its intervention to advise the Ministers campaigning in Nandyal to also visit the drought hit areas in Rayalaseema. Addressing the media, he said no district in the State was witnessing cent per cent agricultural activity owing to drought. The fertile Godavari region was no exception, he said.
Vijayawada:: AgriGold Customers and Agents’ Welfare Association president M.Nageswara Rao today demanded a fast track court for the Redressal of the problems faced by thousands of customers and agents of the AgriGold Group of companies. Speaking to media, he said that the directors of the company were at large were creating tangles and trying to mislead the High Court.
Vijayawada:: RINL CMD P.Madhusudan inaugurated the company’s new steel stockyard on BB Gudem Road in Gannavaram today. He said the aim was to increase RINL’s presence in the Amaravati capital region and its surroundings. This is the second outlet of RINL after Visakhapatnam in the State.

Tirupati:: The State government has decided to convert the Zoo here into Night Safari on the lines of Singapore. The government is considering the master plan and layouts prepared by zoo authorities. The Forest department is planning to establish in 200 acres of land to attract more tourists. The plan estimated to cost Rs.50 crore .
Amaravati:: The ICET seats allotment for admissions into MBA and MCA courses in the State was completed on Wednesday. The Admissions committee has released the convener quota seats. Out of 494 colleges in the State, there were 36,637 seats, 28,848 seats have been allotted with left over of 7,789 seats.

RJUKT Chancellor Rajreddy has appointed his as the Director of Srikakulam IIIT. He worked in various capacities as HoD, Director of Centre for Research in Visakhapatnam, Principal of MITS School of Biotechnology in Bhubaneswar, National Biotechnology Board Director, honorary member of Pollution Control Board. He submitted 116 research papers.

Amaravati:: The Protocol department has issued orders to the District Collector and Superintendent of Police of Kurnool not to provide protocol to the Ministers of State and Centre visiting on the eve of Nandyal by-elections. The election code is in force till the month end. All the employees are under the purview of Election Commission as far as Nandyal by-poll is concerned. The department also directed the officials not to invite the Ministers to the meetings.
