Stone laid for ‘Maha Sivakashetram’

Srikakulam:: Foundation stone was laid for ‘Maha Sivakashetram’ with one crore sivalingams, at Srichakrapuram of Etcherla mandal on Sunday. District Judge V.Nirmala Gitamba and Upanishad Mandiram head Gumma Nagesh took park. Devi Ashramam head Balabhaskara Sarma said it would come up on 30 acres of land available adjacent to the Ashramam.

Cricket betting case-YSRCP MLA questioned

Nellore:: The police on Sunday questioned the YSRCP MLA K.Sridhar Reddy as part of the ongoing investigation into the cricket betteing case and to find out his alleged links with bookies. Sridhar Reddy was said to have been asked once again about his financial dealings with regard to various party programmes and also about his alleged phone conversation with the bookies. Heavy police force was arranged at the police office in connection with the questioning of the MLA.

Police seizes adulterated ghee

Vijayawada:: The Ibrahimpatnam police today seized a huge quantity of adulterated ghee that was made in the city. According to police, a trader in Autonagar of the city was allegedly making adulterated ghee by mixing cooking oil in a small quantity of original ghee. The trader was on his way to deliver an order of 5,800 litres of ghee at Jaggaiahapeta and was transporting the adulterated ghee from his unit. The samples were sent to food safety authorities.
