Serial killer sentenced to death

Nellore:: A local court here today awarded death sentence to Kukkapalli Venkatesh after declaring him as guilty in the sensational murder of Prabhavati, wife of a city based auditor on July 9, 2016. He is a native of Kondapuram area in the district is already serving imprisonment in another case involving the murder of a priest and his w3ife at Chinacherukuru village of the district rural mandal and also an accused in another murder case in Kavali town last year. The Fourth Additional District and Sessions Judge B.Srinivasa Rao sentenced him to death whose modus operandi was to attack his victims with a hammer and rain deadly blows on them till their death.

TTD trust board soon

Tirumala:: TTD is going to get a new trust board soon after a lapse of four months. Endowments Minister P.Manikyala Rao said the exercise with regard to the constitution of the board to TTD was nearing completion and would be announced soon. He said that the government has already announced the new trust boards to over 85% of the temples in the State.

Nanadamuri Balakrishna slaps fan goes viral

Nandyal:: Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna was caught on video slapping a fan at Nandyal. The video went viral on social media today. The fans were seen shouting ‘ Jai Balayya’ when he reached a hotel where he stayed. The fans surrounded him and raised slogans in his praise. One of them appeared to stumble and fall on him as he tried to take a selfie with Balakrishna. The actor slapped and pushed him away and walked away angrily.

Mild tremors cause panic

Srikakulam:: Mild tremors caused panic among residents of several villages in Etcherla mandal of the district. The tremors lasted for 12 seconds and forced many people to come out of their houses. The official said that the tremors were felt only in Etcherla and Ponduru areas.

Jana Sena to have women and student wings

Vijayawada:: Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan today said that it is in the process of forming student and women’s wings soon. He said that the party had recently started its Seva Dal to get the roots of people’s problems and try to offer solutions to the same. He said that the focus would be on understanding the people’s needs and the party would not be gravitating towards any party till the 2019 elections.

CM directs to cap defunct borewells

Vijayawada:: Chief Minsiter has asked the people to cap the borewells that have become dysfunctional. He directed the officials to create awareness among the people on the need to report to the authorities concerned about any borewell that has been left uncovered. He met the team of officials that recently rescued a two-year-old child Chandrasekhar from a borewell at Ummadivaram in Vinukonda mandal of Guntur district. He made a deposit of Rs.2 lakh in the name of the child and it would on maturity will become Rs.20 lakhs to help the child.

Jagammpeta:: Jyothula Chanti Babu has resigned the primary membership of TDP and also to the Eluru Project Chairman post. He held discussions with the party leaders and cadre at his residence at Irripaka village of Jagammpeta mandal.

National Tribal Federation supports YSRCP

Amaravati:: In protest against the remarks of Minister Adinarayana Reddy on Dalits, National Tribal Federation State secretary M.Eswar on Thursday has given a call to support YSRCP candidate in Nandyal by-election. He said that it is unfortunate that the Minister even now did not apologize for his controversial comments on Dalits. He said that they are extending unconditional support to the YSRCP candida and has given a call to campaign for the victory of Shilpa Mohan Reddy.
