  • Amaravati:: Girijan Vidyarthi Samakhya demands hike in mess charges:: Girijan Vidyarthi Samakhya founder president V.Sankar Naik has demanded the government to hike the mess charges in SC/ST/BC hostels in tune with the hike in the increasing prices of essential commodities. He wanted the hike in line with that of Telangana State government.
  • Amaravati:: Four AC bus stops at Secretariat:: CRDA has invited tenders for construction of four Air Conditioned bus stops and waiting hall. The CRDA wanted to construct the same in view of the problems being faced by the employees on BOT system. The CRDA wanted 12 outposts to be constructed within three months.
  • Chittoor:: Three inter-State red sanders smugglers arrested:: The Piler rural police on Friday night arrested three notorious inter-State red sanders smugglers at the Devarakonda hillock in Chinnagottigalu mandal and recovered 11 red sanders logs , an SUV and Rs.1.7 lakh. The arrested are Imran Bhai (38) of Dongri in Mumbai, Yusuf Khan (8) of Indore in MP and Syed Jawed Hussain 940) of Sastri Nagar in Chennai.
  • Machilipatnam:: MADA to open master plan tenders on April 12:: The Machilipatnam Area Development Authority is all set to complete the selection of a credible agency for preparing a master plan by April end. The last date has been extended from March 30 to April 12 to submit tenders for reparation of the master plan. The technical scrutiny will be done within one week said MADA Vice Chairman M.Venugopala Reddy.

  • Tirupati:: Fake police trio arrested:: Three persons were arrested by the Tirupati East Police for masquerading as special branch sleuths an demanding money from people on Saturday. According to sources, the trio are R.R.Vamshi, S.R.Janaki Ramireddy and Kolla Sivardhan were nabbed while taking Rs.2 lakh from a contractor Narasimha Reddy.
  • Vijayawada:: CPI(M) urges Chief Minister to save DCI:: CPI(M) State secretary P.Madhu has requested the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to stall the attempts to privatize the Dredging Corporation of India. In a letter to the Chief Minister, he stated that the Mini Ratna category DCI was playing a crucial role in the development of major and minor ports. He urged the Chief Minter to use his good offices to save it from the ill-conceived move of ‘strategic sale’.
