HYDERABAD: Pay Haj instalment by April 23:: Selected Haj pilgrims from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been told to pay the first instalment of expenses of Rs.81,000 per head before April 23. Pilgrims must also submit the medical screening and fitness certificate, the original passport and the pay in slip of the bank in the office of the State Haj Committees. The Special officer of Telangana State Haj Committee Prof. S.A.Shukoor in a statement said the first instalment of Rs.81,000 should be paid either online on the Haj Committee of India website www.hajcommittee.gov.in or in the Haj Committee of India’s account No.32175020010 FEETYPE-25(SBI) or account No. 318702010406009 (Union Bank of India) through any branch having a core banking system.

High Court dismisses MRPS petition::Hyderabad High Court Justice P.V.Sanjay Kumar on Thursday dismissed the writ petition filed challenging the refusal of the AP police in rejecting the permission for the proposed Viswarupa Chaitanya Yatra by Manda Krishna Madiga. The MRPS has filed the petition complaining that the police have arbitrarily rejected the permission for the yatra. Police however, told the court that there likelihood of law and order problem. The judge dismissed the case.

State to launch Rota vaccine on April 11:: The central department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh and UNICEF will launch Rota virus vaccine in the State on April 11, 2016 to bring down the under 5 years rate of death due to diarrhea. The vaccine has now been made a part of the routine immunization schedule and has so far been introduced only Himachal Pradesh and Odisha. Andhra Pradesh is the third State to introduce the virus. Dr. Sanjeev Padhaya, health specialist at UNICEF said ‘Rota virus alone is responsible for 40 per cent of the severe diarrhea cases in children. Clinical data shows that it kills one child every four minutes in India.

Rs.1000 crore for Krishna Pushkaralu:: AP Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the government will conduct Krishna pushkaralu in a prestigious manner. He along with Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana on Thursday reviewed the ongoing arrangements for Krishna Pushkarams with the officials. Yanamala said that they have so far received proposals worth Rs.1,000 crore and the finance department will give administrative sanction to take up all these works. He said that there is no scarcity of funds for conducting the event.

TIRUPATI: RUIA hospital to become medical hub::Sri Venkateswara Ramnarain Ruia Government General Hospital will become a medical hub of Rayalaseema. Principal Secretary (Medial and Health) Poonam Malakondaiah during three day stay in the hospital announced to pump in Rs.7 crore to develop roads, buildings and equipment for various facilities. She said that the hospital with 1,020 beds, 27 operation theatres, 25 ICUs and 10 specialties would start witnessing a makeover in a couple of months.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Vizag Metro Rail DPR sent to Centre:: The State Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary Karikal Valaven has said that the State Government had submitted the Detailed Project Report prepared by DMRC for Vizag metro rail project to the Centre. The DPR will be examined and reviewed by the Public Investment Board and later will be sent to the Union Cabinet for its approval.

VUDA Board approves Rs.969 crore budget:: The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority in its board meeting on Wednesday has approved Rs.969 crore budget for 2016-2017. It has decided to take up developmental works at a cost of Rs.141 crore in the metro region and Rs.304 crore will be paid to the government in the form of various taxes. The receipts would be around Rs.969 crore from proceeds, development charges, investments, rents on buildings. The expenses would be Rs.921 crore. Around Rs.13 crore have been allotted to take up development works in Srikakulam and Rs.25.23 crore for Vizianagaram.

SIM card racket busted:: The City Task Force sleuths arrested three persons for selling reactivated SIM cards by forging documents submitted by genuine customers on Thursday. The arrested were identified as Polumuru Ravi Kumar of Thatchetlapalem, a sales executive with Vodafone, Santhapuri Suresh Kumar of Muralinagar and distributor for Idea cellular network and Polumuru Ganesh of Arilova , a promoter with Vodafone network. The police seized 884 forged documents, 14 cell phones and 1,367 pre activated SIM cards from them.

NGO’s city unit elections on May 2:: Election to the city unit of APNGO’s Association will be held on May 2. Nominations for the elections will be accepted form 10m to 2pm on April 23 and they will be scrutinized on the same day. The last date for withdrawal is May 24 according to Election Officer and District Organizing Secretary L.Krishnamurty.

Renovated park to be inaugurated on Ugadi day:: The renovated family park at Scindia, the residential colony of Hindustan Shipyard Limited will be inaugurated on April 8 on the occasion of Ugadi. It will be inaugurated by HSL Chairman and Managing Director Rear Admiral L.V.Sarat Babu

VIJAYAWADA: Five day week for shifting staff::' AP Government will implement five day week for one year for the employees who relocate from Hyderabad to Vijayawada by the end of June this year. Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana announced that the policy will be reviewed after one year and the working hours will be different form the current timings. The first batch of 44,400 employees are shifting to Vijayawada by June end along with 2,200 Head of the Departments. He said that the administration from Amaravati from June 2016.

Heat wave claims 45 lives::Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa has said that the heat wave sweeping the State has claimed 45 lives so far. As many as 16 persons died in Kadapa followed by 11 in Prakasam district. Four persons in Anantapur and three each in Chittoor and Vizianagaram districts. Two persons each in Srikakulam and Krishna districts, one in West Godavari, he said in a press release.

RECL sanctions Rs.6,000 crore for power infra in Amaravati:: The Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd., has sanctioned Rs.6,000 crore for augmenting the electricity infrastructure. The was stated by RECL Chairman Rajeev Sharma at the two day international workshop on ‘Energy efficient lighting Urban experiences and implementation practices’ that began here on Thursday. The funds will be spent on laying underground cables, constructing new electrical substations and creating other facilities in Amaravati.
