DEVARAPALLI (WG):Four year boy charred to death:: A four year old boy Saleem was charred to death and another girl was rescued by neighbours in the nick of time in a freak fire accident that took place in Duddukuru village in Devarapalli mandal of West Godavari today. According to fire officials, fire broke out in a hut at around 2.45pm in Voora Cheruvu. The exact reason for the fire is not yet known. Fire fighters form Nidadavolu and Kovvuru have rushed to the spot and by the time locals failed to notice that Saleem was asleep in one of the hatched houses. Fire personnel rushed to the house and found the charred body of the deceased.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Probe on into question paper leak::: An inquiry was being conducted into the alleged leak of SSC question paper of SSC examination in Kadapa district said the Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao. The question paper of Social studies Paper II was allegedly leaked through the social media in the morning.

Cockfight racket busted:: City Task Force team busted a cockfighting racket and arrested 14 persons in this connection at Laxmipuram area under Bheemunipatnam Police Station limits today. The CTF team also recovered five roosters, Rs.40,200 and 13 mobile phones and seven bikes from them.

AP skaters selected for Malaysian Open:: Five skaters have been selected by the Ice Skating Association of India to participate in the 11th Malaysian Open National Figure Skating Championships to be held in Kuala Lumpur from April 14 to 17. Priyam Tated , M.Vishal Ananda and P.Satyanarayana from Visakhapatnam B.Jaswanth Kumar, Riya Saboo from Vijayawada will be participating.

VIJAYAWADA: Home Minister promises action against culprits in demolition of Vangaveeti Ranga statue:: Andhra Pradesh Home Minister N.Chinarajappa visited Nizampeta in Machilipatnam at which the statue of Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga was demolished by some unidentified persons. His visit came following mounting protests from members of Kapu community. He interacted with the locals and enquired with the police of the progress in investigation. Additional DG (Law and Order) R.P.Thakur too visited and inquired with the department officials. SP G.Vijaya Kumar said that the finger prints and other evidnce gathered had been sent to Forensic Science Laboratory. Home Minister promised to take stringent action against those responsible for the demolition.

Centre rejects CBI plea to prosecute IAS officer Sam Bob:: The Centre has turned down the CBI's request for prosecution of senior IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, B Sam Bob, under Prevention of Corruption Act in a case pertaining to alleged amassing of disproportionate assets by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. Department of Personnel and Training wrote a letter to the CBI last week of the government decision. Sam Bob is currently the Special Chief Secretary to Government.
