'HYDERABAD: Doctor assaulted – two arrested:: The Charminar police on Saturday arrested Y.B.Laxmi Devi, a housewife and her daughter in law Y.Sujitha who allegedly assaulted duty doctor Dr.Sweta Priyanka at the Government Maternity Hospital at Petlaburj. Police said that they assaulted her when she advised them to move of the emergency ward. ACP Charminar K.Ashoka Chakrawarthi said that the duo had come to the hospital on Friday along with Sujitha’s new born baby for vaccination and entered the emergency ward. They were directed to the nursery ward on the second floor following which they assaulted the doctor.
KAKINADA: DTC Mohan sent to Challapalli Central Prison::The Deputy Transport Commissioner A.Mohan who was raided on Thursday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for illegally amassing wealth was produced before the ACB court remanded to 14 days and sent to Challapalli jail. Officials found assets worth over Rs.800 crore. ACB Central Investigation Team DSP A.Ramadevi said that investigation and searches were going on in the case. ONGOLE: 11 month old baby kidnapped:: A 11 month old baby girl was kidnapped by some miscreants in front of the railway station. The Government Railway police launched a search on Saturday based on a complaint lodged by the baby’s mother Revathi. Video recording at a CCTV camera installed at the railway station gave some vital clues, said the police. The woman went to buy milk when the offenders quickly took the baby away and boarded a north-bound train.

Justice would be done to Kapus’, Ganta Srinivasa Rao:: AP Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the State Government will do justice to Kapu community by resolving the long-pending issues such as reservation and that is why it has constituted the Manjunatha Commission and sought to submit report within nine months. 'VIJAYAWADA: Government sanctions Rs.530 crore for interim Secretariat:: The State Government has given clearance for implementation of works worth Rs.530 crore for construction of the interim Secretariat at Velagapudi. Orders have been issued for construction of second and third floors at a cost of Rs.68.34 crore, basic amenities in the interior areas of the structure at a cost of Rs.355.74 crore and works worth Rs.105.92 crore pertaining to basic amenities. The Secretariat will initially be a G-Plus one structure while two more floors will be added for various heads of departments.
