  • HYDERABAD: AP EAMCET results on May 9: The results of Andhra Pradesh EAMCET-2016 will be released on May 9, 2016. AP EAMCET convener Sai Baba announced of the same today. He said that the classes will begin from June 27. He said that the examination that is scheduled to be held on April 29 and no student will be allowed inside if comes late even by a minute. Around 2.92 lakh candidates will take the examination with 1.89 students in Engineering and 1.03 lakh students in medical stream including 42,000 candidates from Telangana State. The examinations will be held in 494 centres in Andhra Pradesh and 52 centres in Telangana State, he said.
  • Wife complains to HRC on her husband TV serial director Madhukar:: Prominent TV serial director Madhukar’s wife lodged a complaint with Human Rights Commission stating that her husband is having live-in relationship with a TV anchor Geetha Bhagavat. She said that they both are residing in her house and she was sent away from the home. She further alleged that they both are harassing her mentally and sought justice from the HRC.
  • The Emperor of Corruption:: YSRCP president led a delegation of party leaders and met the national leaders today and handed over a book entitled ‘Emperor of Corruption’ highlighting the corruption in the State by the ruling TDP president and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He explained that Chandrababu Naidu is offering ministerial berths to the YSRCP MLAs and get them joined in the party. He said that democracy in the State is being murdered by the ruling TDP. Chandrababu Naidu is purchasing the party MLAs with the offer of Rs.20 to Rs.30 crore and wondered from where he got that much of amounts.   • Free RTC travel for EAMCET students:: AP State Transport Minister Siddha Raghava Rao on Tuesday said students appearing for EAMCET-2016 to be held on April 29 can travel free of cost in RTC buses in the State when they go the examination centres and return home too. Students may produce their hall tickets and travel free of cost in RTC buses in all 13 districts of the State on April 29. Instructions have been issued to APSRTC management to this effect, said the Transport Minister.
  • Telangana State staff wants Andhra Pradesh to relieve colleagues:: The Telangana State Electricity Engineers Association has demanded that AP Government relieve the 300 odd employees who are natives of Telangana State are working in Andhra Pradesh power sector. Association members, led by its president N.Sivaji staged a dharna at Vidyut Soudha building that accommodates state level offices of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State Genco and Transco. They also demanded that the Andhra Pradesh to take back 1253 power employees relieved by Telangana State Government.
  • High Court directs State to file counter in the appointment of Karem Sivaji's appointment:: Hyderabad High Court dealing with a petition filed by senior advocate Jyothi Prasad challenging the appointment of Karem Sivaji as the Chairman of AP SC, ST commission. The petitioner told to the Court that there are some criminal cases were pending against Karem Sivaji and as such the appointment is violative of law. The Court that heard the arguments directed the State Government and Karem Sivaji to file counter and posted the case to June 7 for further proceedings.
  • 'KHAMMAM: Khammam district collector, SP and Joint Returning Officer transferred:: The Election Commission has transferred the Khammam district Collector Lokesh Kumar, Superintendent of Police Shahnawaz Qasim , joint Returning Officer following complaints by a delegation led by Congress leader and TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy seeking free and fair election in the by-election of Palair.
  • NELLORE: PSLV countdown begins at SHAR for launch on April 28:: The 51 hours 30 minutes countdown for the launch of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C33 Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System-1G Mission has started at 9.20am at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Shar, Sriharikota on Tuesday. The launch is scheduled for April 28 at 12.50pm. The 1425 kg IRNSS-1G is the seventh and final navigation satellite of Indian Regional Navigation System and objective of the network of 7 similar satellites is to have India’s very own GPS system.
  • TIRUPATI: TTD Trust Board decisions:: TTD Trust Board in its meeting today has decided to construct Venkateswara Swamy Temple at a cost of Rs.18 crore at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of TTD, Chadalavada Krishnamurthy. The TTD also allotted Rs.3.86 crore for Mutyupu Pandiri and Sarva Bhoopala Vahanam. The Board sanctioned Rs.25 crore for the Welfare fund of Archakas. Rs.72 lakhs were allotted for Satakopam. Chadalavada said that the Venkateswara Swamy Kalyanam will be held at Nairobi in Kenya on May 22. The Board allocated Rs.4.6 crore for construction of new Kalyanamandapam and guest house for pilgrims at Ontimitta. Rs.50 lakhs were sanctioned to Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad.
  • VISAKHAPATNAM: Corporate doctors services invited:: AP Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas said that the government would provide remuneration to the corporate doctors if they are ready to serve the poor at government hospitals including those at KGH. He laid foundation stone for a 350 bedded tertiary care hospital of Care Hospitals Group at the Health City, Arilova on Tuesday. He said that besides upgrading the infrastructure and recruiting staff, we introduced free diagnostic services at government hospitals as part of the National Health Mission. The child and maternal mortality came down, he said. Chairman of the Care Hospitals Group B.Somaraju said that the 350 bed tertiary care centre is the fourth one in the State.
  • 'APPCET last date extended::' The last date for submitting application for AP Physical Education Common Entrance Test has been extended up to May 25 without late fee up to May 31 with a late fee of Rs.500, June 5 with a late fee of Rs.2,000 and June 9 with a late fee of Rs.5,000 according to the Convener of APPCET -2016 Y.Kishore.
