  • HYDERABAD: Portfolio changes in Telangana State Cabinet :: Governor ESL Narasimhan today gave his consent to the change of ministries. A Government order to this effect will likely be issued today night. K.Chandrasekhara Rao will hold industries and Mining, Jupalli Krishna Rao – Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy – Cooperative , Talasani Srinivasa Yadav – BC Welfare, Cinematography, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development.
  • 1,000 Bed Indo UK Hospital to come up:: Indo UK Institute of Health came forward to establish 1,000 bed hospital here for which the Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao has given his nod. He assured to extend the necessary infrastructure along with site for establishment of the hospital. Indo UK Institute of Health Chairman Prof.Mike Parker along with his delegation met the Chief Minister at his camp office.
  • CPI extends support to CPM candidate in Palair by-elections:: The Communist Party of India has decided to extend support to the CPI(M) candidate in the by-elections to Paler constituency. The election was necessitated following the untimely death of Congress MLA Ramreddy Venkata Reddy. Sucharita, wife of Ramreddy will be contesting on Congress ticket.
  • CHITTOOR: 150 taken ill after betrothal dinner:: Over 150 guests who attended a betrothal function at Urlaobanapalle village of Kuppam mandal fell ill immediately after taking dinner on Monday night and they were rushed to various government and private hospitals in and around Kuppam. Sources said that a betrothal function was arranged at the residence of a bride at Urlaobanapalle with a youth from Vepuru village nearby. After the event, the dinner started around 7.30pm onwards and three batches were served, commotion gripped the village with over 150 people vomiting and showing signs of giddiness and stomach ache. Ambulances were deployed form all available routes while many were rushed to hospitals by auto rickshaws, motor cycles and private vehicles.
  • VIJAYAWADA: Energy University comes up at Anantapur:: Energy Principal Secretary Ajay Jain said that Energy university will come up in the district. He said that the State Higher Education Department has given permission for establishment of the same and classes will commence from academic year 2017-18. Speaking to media here, he said that the government will allot land required for establishment of the University.
  • First five star hotel comes up at Amaravati:: The first five star hotel will come up at Amaravati and the works would be formally launched on April 29 by the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. ‘My Fortune’, the five star hotel will come up in a 1.5 acre of land at Vidyanagar. The hotel will have 150 rooms besides three restaurants and other facilities including swimming poor, bar, gym and conference hall. The 12 storeyed facility would be built at a cost of Rs.150 crore.
  • VISAKHAPATNAM: Environment clinic on April 28:: An ‘Environment clinic’ is being organized by the AP Pollution Control Board to resolve the pollution issues pertaining to pharma industries in Visakhapatnam zone at Novotel hotel on April 28. The areas to be covered in the meet include issues on operation and maintenance of reverse osmosis plants/solvent stripping systems/multiple effect evaporators/ATFD, issues of biological treatment systems/marine discharge systems/reduction of Cos issues on operation and maintenance of odour control systems form individual industries and CETP . etc., Additional Director of CPCP, New Delhi, Paritosh Kumar and other prominent ones will participate.
  • Forest Section Officer in ACB net:: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials caught red-handed the Forest Section Officer of Anantagiri range for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.9,000 from a complainant on Monday. The accused official is identified as S.Subba Rao.
  • APICET hall tickets:: Hall tickets of the APICET-2016 can be downloaded from Monday according to convener K.Rama Mohana Rao. After opening the ICET website the candidate has to click on Hall tickets and then enter his or her application number and date of birth to download the hall ticket.   • AUCET and AUEET hall tickets from Wednesday:: Hall tickets for AU Common Entrance Test (AUCET) 2016 and AU Engineering Common Entrance Test 2016 will be posted on the website for downloading by candidates from Wednesday. The two examinations will be held on May 5 and 6. AUCET will be held at four examination centres and at one centre in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Bhimavaram, Vijayawada, Guntur and Amalapuram. AUEET 2016 will be held at three centres in Visakhapatnam and one each at Kakinada and Vijayawada according to AU Directorate of Admissions O.Aniel Kumar.
