Amaravati:: Hari Babu appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Veterinary University:: The State government has appointed Dr.Yerrapati Haribabu as the Vice Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University at Tirupati. The Governor ESL Narasimhan has issued the orders. Haribabu belongs to Chittor district and worked as Veterinary Animal, Fisheries Sciences director at Beedhar in Karnataka. He will be in the post for a period of three years.
Chittoor:: TDP wins by-elections:: The TDP won the by-election to Mittur (38th division) of the Chittoor Municipal Corporation and the 23rd ward in Palamaner Municipality. They were previously held by the YSRCP. Party district vice-president P.Nani speaking to media said that the by-election proved that the people are with the TDP. In the 38th ward, while C.Vasanth Kumar of TDP polled 1,963 votes while C.Jyothi of YSRCP polled 349 votes. In the 23rd ward, TDP candidate Madan Mohan won by a majority of 371 votes over his YSRCP rival Nayaz.
Penagaluru (Railwaykoduru):: AgriGold agent dies of heart attack:: An AgriGold agent Viswanadham Subbarayudu (54) on Tuesday died of heart attack. He got enrolled many people as members of AgriGold and due to the seizure of AgriGold assents, the people pressurized him for repayment of their money. Sources said that he sustained cardiac arrest due to tension mounted on him.
Tirupati:: Anganwadi workers to stage protest on April 20:: Anganwadi Workers Union State general secretary K.Subbaravamma has given a call to its members to stage protests at the respective district Collectorates on April 20 to solve their problems. She gave the call while participating in the union State level workshop.
Tirupati:: Paramedical registrations are valid:: Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences Registrar Dr.Kalavat said that the registrations of the students who had in the university are valid. It may be recalled that the Paramedical Board in Vijayawada has denied registering those studied in SVIMs and the registration has given clarification to this effect. Dr.Kalavat said that the issue will be solved shortly.
