  • Visakhapatnam:: Collector directs to send fever data to DMHO:: District Collector Pravin Kumar has sought the cooperation of private hospitals in controlling the spread of viral fevers in the district. At a review meeting with private hospitals and diagnostic centre managements today, he said that the district administration was on the job of controlling the viral fevers. He asked them to send the data pertaining to fevers to the DMHO for analysis and initiation of remedial measures.

This is aimed at creating awareness among prospective providers of buses on hiring basis through the e-tendering system.
  • Visakhapatnam:: RINL unions flay move to cut contribution to pension fund:: Various staff unions of RINL on Wednesday criticised the management’s move to contribute just two percent towards the pension fund for the non-executive employees. In a memorandum to RINL Director, the unions including the recognized ones said the move was in contrary with the terms of the National Joint Committee on Steel Agreement reached in July 2014 wherein it was decided to contribute six percent of salary by the management towards its contribution.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Basant Kumar is VMRDA chief:: Consequent to the State government notifying Visakhapatnam Metro Region Development Authority expanding its purview, VUDA Vice Chairman P.Basant Kumar has been appointed as Metropolitan Commissioner, VMRDA. Principal Secretary Municipal Administration and Urban Development R.Karikal Valaven issued orders.

  • Visakhapatnam:: Discom to hold meets for consumers:: The Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum of Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited will conduct awareness programme meeting at the camp courts in the five districts under its jurisdiction of the Discom – Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari from September 6.

  • Vijayawada:: Pension Adalat on September 18:: A national level Pension Adalat is being held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram on September 19 at 10.30am. Pending cases of category II family pensioners and also partly issued cases and provisional pension cases from East, West Godavari, Guntur, Krishna and Prakasam districts will be discussed in the forum.
