Visakhapatnam:: MP Hari Babu for IPU in Geneva:: Lok Sabha member K.Haribabu has been nominated as a member of the Indian Parliamentary delegation that participates in the 139th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Switzerland. He said that the IPU would be held from October 14 to 18 in Geneva.
Vijayawada:: TDP will contest in all 119 constituencies in Telangana State:: TDP National general secretary N.Lokesh said that the party would contest in all 199 Assembly seats in Telangana in the upcoming general elections. He said that the party was geared up to face the situation. To a query on the alliance with Congress, he evaded the question saying that the Polit Bureau is the highest body in the party and it will decide on it, he said.
Visakhapatnam:: Vizag Fintech Festival from October 22 to 26:: A week long Vizag Fintech festival will be organized here from October 22 to 26. The State government and Fintech Valley Vizag are organizing in collaboration with Singx. More than 75 speakers including 30 internatonal, from banks, NBFCs, corporate, startup and more are would address the conference where in 1,500 delegates are expected to participate. The festival focuses on BankTech, insurTEch, GovTech, Financial Inclusion and EmergeTech. A first prize of $1,50,000 and $1,00,000 as second prize would be given to the winners and finalists would get Rs.7 lakh each in each category.
Vijayawada::IIIT contract staff stage demonstration with black badges:: The contractual teaching and non-teaching staff of the Rajiv Gandhi University of knowledge Technologies on Tuesday staged a demonstration on the campus. The sported black badges to work opposing the new assessment method with a mandatory personal interview for enhancement of salaries. The protesting staff served a notice to the director stating that they would boycott duties from September 10 if their demands are not conceded by then. Most of the contract staff skipped the interviews conducted recently and staff at IIIT, Idupulapaya staged similar protests.
Visakhapatnam:: Increase retirement age of University teachers:: Representatives of Andhra University Teachers Association today appealed to HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao that the retirement age of university teachers be increased to 65. They submitted a memorandum to him to this effect. The AUTA sought that the government must take appropriate decision taking the pressing issue into consideration. They sought recruitment of Assistant Professors and implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
Visakhapatnam:: Spot admissions for AU courses from September 6:: The School of Distance Education of Andhra University will conduct spot admissions for various courses at the Government College for Men, Srikakulam on September 6 and 7 from 9am to 5pm.
