Visakhapatnam:: Guntur wins State-level wrestling tournament:: The two-day State-level wrestling competitions that was organized by the AP Amateur Wrestling Association concluded at Gopalapatnam Boys High School here on Sunday. As many as 120 players below 23 years of age from 10 districts both male and female categories participated in the competitions. The participants won 26 gold, 20 silver and 28 bronze medals in three different categories. Guntur district emerged the overall championship among the teams.
Visakhapatnam:: IIPE team wins first prize in ‘Pixel Run’:: Akhilesh Kumar Boddala, a second year petroleum engineering student of Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy and his team bagged the first place in the ‘Pixel Run Appathon’ held here recently. Some 13 teams participated in the event and the IIPE received an awarded of Rs.20,000.
Vijayawada:: Pawan thanks Chandrababu and Lokesh for wishes:: JSP chief Pawan Kalyan thanked Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh and others in response to his birthday wishes extended by them on Twitter on Sunday. In a release, he said he had no habit of celebrating birthdays since childhood and did the same this year. However, many including JSP activists in Telugu States and abroad celebrated my birthday and I am thankful to them. He also thanked Telangana Congress official spokesperson D.Sravan and members of the party.
Vijayawada:: MGNREGA awards- State bags ten national awards:: The State has won 10 national awards in nine categories at the national level of the MGNREGA while West Bengal got seven awards. AP stood in the number one position in ‘transparency and accountability’ category followed by Telangana, Sikkim and Odisha and in the second position in ‘convergence and livelihood augmentation’ led by West Bengal. Visakhapatnam and Prakasam districts were placed first and second respectively among 18 high performing districts in effective implementation of MGNREGA by district teams.
