  • Visakhapatnam:: Telugu Film festival from September 20:: The Vizag Film Society affiliated to Federation of Film Societies of India will organize a Telugu Film Festival from September 20. The films will be screened daily at Visakha Public Library at 6pm daily. The three day festival is scheduled to commemorate the release of the first Telugu talkie film ‘Bhakta Prahlada’ which was released on September 15, 1931.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Jana Vignana Vedika to organize conference from September 21: The Jana Vignana Vedika will organize its 15th State conference at Andhra Kesari Kalakshetram, Ukkunagaram from September 21 to 23. JVV general secretary Chilaka V.V.S.N.Murthy said around 350 delegates and more than 50 observers from across the State are expected to take part in the event.
  • Visakhapatnam:: RINL bags two Viswakarma Rashtriya Puraskars:: The RINL has bagged two Viswakarma Rashtriya Puraskars for its innovative suggestions implemented in the plant. The awards were given by Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar in New Delhi on Monday.
  • Visakhapatnam:: CBI probe sought in NAD examinations:: The Naval Armament Depot Civil Employees Union on Monday has submitted a complaint to the CBI seeking a detailed probe into the alleged irregularities in the examination conducted for direct recruitment of Chargemen. The examination conducted on June 17 was cancelled later in the wake of allegations pertaining to irregularities, corruption and leakage of the question papers.
  • Visakhapatnam:: EPS pensioners seeks fair deal:: A dharna was organized by EPS-95 pensioners in response to the nation-wide protest call given by the All India Federation and All Pensioners and Retired Pensioners Association at the Gandhi statute on Monday. The protests will continue on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and a dharna would be organized at the Regional PF office at Marripalem VUDA colony.
  • Ongole:: Arrest of JC brothers demanded:: Members of the Bhagavad Gita Prachara Committee staged a demonstration in front of the Prakasam Bhavan on Monday demanding the arrest of Anantapur MP JC Diwakar Reddy and his brother J.C.Prabhakar Reddy holding them responsible for the violence at Chinna Palamada in faction ridden Tadiparti.
  • Vijayawada:: SCS protest cases will be withdrawn:: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has said that the cases slapped against persons who were agitating for SCS would be withdrawn. He announced the same in the Assembly.
