  • Vijayawada:: Yanamala Ramakrishnudu flays Jagan Reddy:: AP Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu today took a dig at YSRCP chief Jagan Reddy for his remarks that Chandrababu Naidu was cosying up with the Congress. In a statement, he said the Chief Minister discussed about national politics casually with Cabinet colleagues which Jagan was blowing it out of proportion. He said that the TDP alone has capacities and capabilities to unite non-BJP, non-Congress parties.
  • Vijayawada:: Kabaddi coach attempts suicide:: Kabaddi coach and Krishna District Kabbadi Association secretary Yalamanchili Srikanth allegedly attempted to suicide by consuming poison at his residence on Wednesday. He along with some women Kabaddi players alleged harassment of players and misuse of office by AP Kabaddi Association general secretary V.Veera Lankaiah. He also complained to the Chief Minsiter but was later expelled from the Association that rebutted his allegations. Minutes before attempting suicide, he reportedly record a selfie video addressed to the Chief Minister and alleged that Lankaiah was still harassing players by not giving them a chance to play and demander a CBI probe.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Job mela on August 25:: MP K.Hari Babu in collaboration with Placement Park will organize a job mela at his office near Kailasagiri Ropeway on August 25. Recruitment will be made to 230 posts including voice process. The other openings are sales executives, food delivery executives, digital marketing semi voice and international technical support voice will be available during the job mela that will begin at 10am.
  • Visakhapatnam:: YSRCP leaders donate Rs.13.1 lakh to Kerala:: The YSRCP leaders from the city donated Rs.13.1 lakh to the victims of devasting flood in Kerala. The amount was handed over to the representatives Kerala Kala Samithi on Wednesday. Party’s city president Malla Vijaya Prasad contributed Rs.2.25 lakh and North Assembly constituency in charge K.K.Raju contributed Rs.2 lakh, Tippala Nagi Reddy, Vamsikrishna Srinivas Yada, Chokkakula Venkatarao and Bokam Srinivasa Rao donated Rs.1 lakh each. Praja Spandana president C.S.Rao has donated Rs.20,000 to Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Get NoC for Sec.22A land by paying Rs.500:: People who want to apply for NoC with regard to the land notified under the Section 22-A(1)(d) under Land Ceiling Act, 1976 should pay Rs.500 as service charge at the Mee Seva Centre at the Collector’s office from August 21 and obtain a receipt said Joint Collector G.Srijana.

  • Kakinada:: Officials gives alert on Godavari districts:: The second flood alert was retrained at the Dowlaiswaram barrage for the second consecutive day on Tuesday with the water level touching 14.7 feet and the irrigation officials discharging 14.3 lakh cusecs into the Bay of Bengal. Officials of the revenue and police departments from twin Godavari districts are on high alert.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Student drowns while taking selfie:: A student of first year Intermediate has gone missing after he was pulled into the water by a wave near Jodugulapalem Beach, while he was allegedly taking a selfie on Tuesday evening. The missing student has been identified as one Zaid. Three youngsters including two brothers from Adarsh Nagar area went to the beach on Tuesday evening. They climbed the rocks protruding from the water and were trying to take a selfie in the evening when a big wave reportedly sucked them into the sea. Two of them managed to swim safely back to the shore.
  • Tirupati:: Tickets fro Varalakshmi Vratam at Tiruchur:: As Varalakshmi Vratam will be performed at the Tiruchanur Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple this Friday, the TTD says the entry tickets will be made available at the current booking counter 24 hours ahead of the ritual. Devotees can purchase the tickets at the Kumkumachana counter near the temple complex from 9am on August 23 on payment of Rs.500 per couple.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Retired SP joins YSRCP:: Retired SP Y.Prembabu on Tuesday joined YSRCP in the presence of its present Jagan Mohan Reddy at Kailasapatnam in the district. Jagan who is in the district as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra welcomed him into the party.
  • Machilipatnam:: Seven more snakebite cases in Diviseema:: At least seven persons were admitted to Avanigadda Area Hospital on Tuesday for treatment of snakebite while one person was referred to the Machilipatnam District Government Hospital for better medical care. Avanigadda Area Hospital Superintendent Krishna Dora said 18 persons have been admitted for the treatment of snakebite on Monday. Over 100 cases have been reported during the month in Diviseema alone.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Special buses for TDP meet:: Buses will ply from every Assembly constituency to the ‘Nara Hamara-TDP hamara’ Muslim Garjana scheduled to be organized in Guntur on August 28 said Home and district in charge minister N.Chinnarajappa said on Tuesday.
