Amaravati:: 150 Deputy Tehsildars promoted:: The DPC has decided to promote 150 Deputy Tehsildars in revenue department. CCLA Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha who chaired the meeting on Friday has took the decision and recommended. Sources said that orders to this effect will be issued in a couple of days.
Amaravati:: Salaries for SERP staff hiked:: The State government has decided to increase the salaries of the Society for the Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP). The government has given green signal for hike of 35 per cent salaries and the Principal secretary for the government Salmon Arokia Raj on Friday issued orders to this effect.

Visakhapatnam:: Court awards Rigorous imprisonment to postal employee:: The Principal Special Judge for CBI cases Gayathri Devi on Friday convicted and sentenced Kumandoori Panduranga Rao, the then Postal Assistant, Head Post Office, Tekkali, Srikakulam district to undergo three years and slapped a fine of Rs.36,000 for cheating the department. The convict during the period from June 12, 2009 to October 19, 2011 withdrew amounts to a total of Rs.20,88,000 by using forged documents and also entered into a criminal conspiracy with Annu Sundara Rao and B.Meghanadham the then postal assistants.
Visakhapatnam:: YSRCP demands resignation of Ganta Srinivasa Rao in default case:: YSRCP leaders led by Gudivada Amarnath on Friday demanded the resignation of HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao over the alleged default of loan taken by Pratyusha Resources and Infra Limited from Indian Bank. It may be recalled that Indian Bank seizes HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s properties in Pratyusha company default case . Vijayawada:: Transport department take steps to control bus fares:; Minister for Transport Sidda Raghava Rao said that the Transport department will take steps to control fares in the APSRTC and private buses during Sankranti festival. Participating in the annual review meeting with the department officials, the Minister on Friday said he would also speak to APSRTC MD M.Malakondaiah and do justice to the commuters. On illegal operations in the State, he directed the Deputy Transport Commissioners and other officers to conduct surprise checks and book those who are operating buses illegally.

Hyderabad: Cash withdrawal limit from ATMs hiked:: The Reserve Bank of India has announced the hike of withdrawal of cash from ATMs from the existing Rs.2,500 to Rs.4,500. However, there is no change in the limit of Rs.24,000 per week from January 1, 2017.
Hyderabad:: 92 per cent takes AEE mains:; APPSC Secretary Y.V.S.T.Sai in a statement on Friday said that the main examinations conducted for the AEE posts by the APPSC on Thursday and Friday, as many as 92 per cent of the candidates have taken up the examination. The examination was held in 131 centres along with Hyderabad went off peacefully. As many as 34,324 candidates took the examination for paper I while 34,403 for Paper II and 34,224 for Paper III took up the examination. The key will be released on Saturday, he said. The key will be posted on the https://www.psc.ap.gov.in/ and the candidates can submit their objections if any between January 2 to 9, he said.
