Amaravati:: Seats hiked in NTR Vidyonnati scheme:: The State government has issued orders enhancing the existing seats from 350 to 700 for extending free coaching for SC and ST candidates for getting coaching for Civil Services Examinations. Social Welfare Department secretary S.S.Rawat has on Tuesday issued the orders.
Kurnool:: Port rail link by December 2017’, says Union Minister:; The Obulavaripalle-Krishnapuram Port broad gauge railway line connectivity work in Kadapa district would be completed by December next year said Union Minister for Urban Development M.Venkaiah Naidu. The work on the 262 metre-long first tunnel had been completed and 56 per cent of the work was completed on the 3,63 metre-long second tunnel which was progressing briskly, he said.
Rajamahendravaram:: Photography workshop:: 8th National photography workshop was inaugurated here on Tuesday with the support of Andhra Pradesh Photography Academy. Khammam Photo Arts Organization is organizing the workshop in coordination with the AP Photography Academy to showcase the talent of best and upcoming photographers in the country. As many as 135 members from 13 States are taking part in the workshop.

Vijayawada:: Foundation stone to be laid for Purushottapatnam LI scheme on January 5:: Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said on Tuesday that the foundation stone for the Purushottapatnam Lift Irrigation scheme would be laid on January 5. Releasing the calendar and diary of the AP Irrigation NGO’s Association, he said top priority was being given to water resources by the State government. He said that the government has spent Rs. 20,023 crore on various irrigation projects.
Vijayawada:: ACB gets 40 actionable complaints on WhatsApp in two weeks:: The ‘WhatsApp’ initiative by the AP ACB has received good response from the public according to ACB Director General R.P.Thakur. Addressing the annual press conference, he said 40 of the complaints received through the instant messaging mobile application merited attention. Thakur said 250 cases which included 104 traps, 50 disproportionate assets, seven criminal misconduct, 72 surprise checks and 26 regular inquiries. The trap cases involved rs.31.96 lakh and DA cases Rs.140 crore (document value) assets had been unearthed.
Hyderabad:: APPSC seeking willing letters from group II (1999) selected candidates:: APPSC has sought willing letters from the candidates who were selected in Group II (1999) in response to the merit list released on December 23 in accordance with the Supreme Court directions. The last date for submitting willing letters is set to January 2, 2017.
