Guntur:: ZP chairperson alleges threat to her life:: ZP chairperson Shaik Janimum has alleged that she has been facing a threat to her life from Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu which was rejected by the Minister. At a press conference on Friday, she said that she submitted a representation to the SP, Guntur Urban seeking protection from the Minister. She said that the Minister of threatening her with dire consequences, instigating the public at a Chandranna Runa Mela event and doing to her things that interfered with her functioning.
Visakhapatnam:: Plea to name Bhogapuram airport as Simhadri Appanna International Airport:: Sri Simhadri Appanna Prachara Samithi of Madhavadhara met the Airport Director Vinod Sharma and submitted a memorandum seeking the naming of the proposed International Airport at Bhogapuram as ‘Simhadri Appanna International Airport’. The Airport Director informed the members that he would send the representation to the higher authorities.
Visakhapatnam:: Ganja seized and four held:: The City Task Force team intercepted a car near Gnanapuram Main Road and apprehended four persons for illegally transporting 92 kgs of dry ganja on Friday. The apprehended were identified as D.Simhachalam, E.Mohan and K.Nidhi from Anantagiri and K.Krishna Rao of Kancharapalem.
Visakhapatnam:: State youth festival inaugurated:: Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao has on Friday inaugurated the State level youth festival at Andhra University Convocation Hall on Friday. SETVIS CEO A.Siri said winners in competitions conducted in 13 districts were participating in the competitions. For 543 participants competitions were being conducted at five venues during the two days. Winners here will compete in the national festival in Haryana.

Tirupati: Deputy Executive Engineer caught by ACB:: ACB sleuths have taken Deputy Executive Engineer-I working in Tirupati Corporation Venkata Prasad while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.20,000 from a complainant for clearing water tap connection. Sources said that one Sunita of Koramenugunta village applied for water tap connection and failed to get the same met the DEE. The accused demanded Rs.30,000 but finally settled to Rs.20,000 for clearing the file. The husband of the victim lodged a complaint with the ACB who laid a trap and took him into custody.
