  • Amaravati:: Half day schools from March 13:: In view of increasing day temperatures, the schools in the State will function half a day from March 13. The Commissioner for School Education K.Sandhya Rani issued orders to this effect.
  • Amaravati:: Examination fee can be paid on 11,12 and 13:: The candidates who are appearing for X and Intermediate through Andhra Pradesh Open School Society can pay the examination fee through Tatkal on March 11,12 and 13. The examinations will be held from April 14. Rs.1,000 for Intermediate and Rs.500 for X class can be paid.
  • Chittoor:: Four arrested and 30 motorbikes seized:: The Chittoor East police on Tuesday arrested four member gang of motorbike lifters at Ambodarapalle Cross in Gangadhara Nellore Mandal and seized 30 motorcycles worth Rs.14 lakhs from them.
  • Ongole:: KVPS threat to move to court if Group II results announced without deciding quota:; Kula Vivaksha Porata Sagam State general secretary A.Malyadri on Tuesday threatened to move to the High Court if the State government went ahead with declaring the results of Group-II preliminary screening test without deciding on the quota for depressed classes.
  • Velagapudi:: Will move to court if Roja is targeted again’, says Jagan:: YSRCP will seek legal recourse if the Privileges Committee of the Legislative Assembly initiates fresh disciplinary action against Nagari MLA R.K.Roja in connection with the complaint lodged by TDP MLA Vangalapudi Anitha. Speaking to media in his chamber, Jagan Mohan Reddy made it clear that any disciplinary action initiated against Roja would be challenged in court. He said that one-year suspension of Roja from the service of the House had already ended and she was now eligible to attend the Assembly. He said that no person should be punished for the same event twice. It was highly inappropriate to target a woman member in this manner, he said.
  • Vijayawada:: Trujet flight makes an emergency landing:: A Trujet flight bound for Chennai with 38 passengers on board made an emergency landing soon after it takes off at the Vijayawada Airport following a suspected technical snag today on Tuesday morning. Sources said that the flight 2T200 took off at 7.55am. ‘Minutes into the flight, the pilot requested for a priority landing landed within ten minutes’ Trujet Airport Manager Kiran Raju said that it was just a suspected technical snag which the pilots felt minutes after takin off and came back.
  • Vijayawada:: Jagan takes a dig at Jaleel Khan:: Vijayawada (East) MLA Jaleel Khan who crossed over to TDP from YSRCP was star attraction. Jagan took potshots at him albeit indirectly. ‘You people won’t understand the figures I am quoting. After all, you have done B.Com with physics’, he said taking a dig at Jaleel Khan. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu went to the rescue of Khan saying ‘I don’t know what the Opposition leader’s educational qualifications were. He is getting confused and confusing everyone with his speech’.
