  • Amaravati:: Speed governors to all vehicles plying in the State within a month:: The AP Transport Minister Siddha Raghava Rao had directed to see that all vehicles plying in the State should be equipped with Speed governors in view of the increasing accidents. He wanted the transport officials to see that all vehicles that were released on or after October 1, 2015 were equipped with speed governors are working or not. He directed that contract carriage buses should be equipped with vehicle tracking system.
  • Kakinada:: College autonomous status extended:: The UGC has extended the autonomous status for the city based Ideal College of Arts and Scienes to the academic year 2021-22. Announcing this here on Monday, College correspondent P.Chiranjeevini Kumari said that the aided college got the rank ‘B’ from the NAAC and offering graduation courses in arts and science streams.
  • Srikakulam:: Training to election staff:: Additional Joint Collector P.Rajanikanta Rao has asked the staff deputed for the council elections to have thorough knowledge of the rules for their smooth conduct. He was addressing a training programme held for the staff on Monday.
  • Tirupati:: Minister accused of violating poll code:: Three major trade unions have filed a complaint with Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal against Municipal Administration Minister K.Narayarana accusing him of trying to influence the municipal teachers ahead of the ensuing MLC elections. At a media conference, the main complainant K.Murali (CITU) played an audio file on his mobile phone, purportedly showing the Minister issuing directions to a teacher.
  • Vizianagaram:: 11 MR PG College students suspended:: The MRPG College has placed 11 students under suspension and the list was displayed in the notice board on Monday. It may be recalled that a clash took place on March 3 on the eve of College Anniversary between MBA and PG students in which seven students sustained injuries. The PG students demanded the management to take action against the concerned MBA students and lecturers who provoked them. The college management has placed four MBA final year students, thee BBM third year and four first year BBA students under suspension.
