Hindupuram:: Brahmin leaders demand allocation of Rs.200 crore:: Bapatla MLA Raghupathi, Telangana former MP Venugopala Chari has demanded the government to allocate Rs.200 crore for the welfare of Brahmins. A meet was held on Sunday at Gayatri temple under the aegis of Brahmin Seva Trust. Speaking on the occasion, they said that the Telangana State government has allocated Rs.200 crore for the welfare of brahmins and reminded that Chandrababu Naidu has promised Rs.500 crore for the welfare of Brahmins during his padayatra. They also demanded that one MLA seat should be allotted to brahmins from each district. They said that YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced that four MLA seats would be allotted to Brahmins in the next elections and also promised to allocate Rs.1,000 crore for their welfare.
Kakinada:: Dalits’ tonsuring case-padayatra to seek justice:: In protest against inordinate delay in rendering justice in the ‘tonsuring of Venkatayapalem Dalits’ case, activists of the HRF and the Dalit Aikya Porata Vedika undertook a two day padayatra in the Konaseema region. Five youths of the village had allegedly been humiliated about 20 years ago. HRF secretary V.S.Krishna accused the government of shielding the prime accused and TDP MLA Thota Trimurtulu.

Vijayawada:: PG Medical counselling in April:: Dr.NTR University of Health Science Vice Chancellor Dr.T.Ravi Raju said that the medical PG Counselling for the year 2017-18 for Medical PG/Diploma courses will be held in the first week of April. A notification to this effect will be issued shortly. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of ranks obtained in the NEET and in the third week, first phase web options would be given and allotment of seats process would be taken up from April 25 to 28, he said. The classes would commence from May 1, he said.
