  • Anakapalli:: Mudragada demands immediate implementation of promises made to Kapu community:: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham speaking to media at the camp office of the former Minister Dadi Veerabhadra Rao on Wednesday said that Chandrababu Naidu failed to implement the pre-poll promises made to the community. He said that they are fighting for the last 22 years demanding inclusion of the community in the list of BCs. He said that Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy has released GO No.30 paving way for reservations. Chandrababu Naidu approached High Court which suggested to extend reservations based on population and category wise in 1995. Though Chandrababu came to power failed to implement the same despite nearly three years of assuming his office, he said.
  • Mangalagiri:: R&B women employee attempts suicide at Secretariat:: An R&B employee Kurapani Kalyani attempted to commit suicide by swallowing sleeping pills at the first gate of the Secretariat on Wednesday as she was denied to meet the Chief Minister. She hails from Tekkali of Srikakulam district. She was immediately shifted to Mangalagiri government hospital and later moved her to her native. Speaking to media, she said that Minister Atchnnaidu has slapped her and Tekkali CI and SI assaulted her sexually. She said that she got the job following the death of her father and the officials are harassing her saying that the SSC certificate is a fake one and booked a case. When she attempted to meet Chandrababu Naidu and explain him of the situation, she was denied resulted in humility, swallowed sleeping pills, she said.
  • Hyderabad:: National Entrance Test for admissions into Engineering courses:: All India Council for Technical Education has decided to conduct a common entrance test for all admissions into engineering courses throughout the country. Sources said that a high level meeting held in New Delhi has taken a decision and it will be implemented from 2018-19 academic year. Sources said that in lines with NEET, the meeting has reportedly decided to conduct admissions on JEE main scores.
  • Hyderabad:: High Court orders to place all records of the appoint of Karem Sivaji before it:: The High Court has ordered the State government to place before it all the records pertaining to the appointment of Karem Sivaji as the Chairman of SC, ST Commission and posted the case to next week. Justice A.Ramalingeswara Rao issued orders to this effect. It may be recalled that the High Court has suggested the government to appoint a person suitable person to the post but the government has appointed Sivaji and issued an order on March 9. The judge dealing with the petitions filed by K.Jaya Rao of Nellore and Jaya from East Godavari challenging the government orders gave the directions.
