  • Guntur:: Agricultural University to work from Lam:: Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University will start functioning from its premises at Lam village from this Ugadi. The university that was the one of the first government institutions to move lock, stock and barrel to Guntur has been functioning rom two apartment blocks on the IRR at Gorantala. The Registrar T.V.Satyanarayana said that the construction of the university blocks at a cost of Rs.1,500 crore would be completed in two years.
  • Kakinada:: Four held for impersonation:: The East Godavari police on Friday arrested four persons from two locations on the charge of claiming themselves as journalists of a popular vernacular news channel. The Kakinada II Town police arrested G.Rama Rao and V.Appa Rao while the Ravulapalem police arrested Nagaraju and Anand after receiving complaints that they were claiming themselves as reporters.
  • Vijayawada: Father tries to sell kinds arrested:: A man identified as Syed Hasman, a native of Visakhapatnam was arrested when he attempted to sell his two children to get money for purchasing liquor. City Police Commissioner D.Gautam Sawang said that the two kids are safe and handed them over to their grandparents. Instructions have been given to the police to register a case against the accused.
  • Vijayawada:: Gautam Sawang to UK:: City Police Commissioner Gautam Sawang will visit U.K.Security and Policing Exhibition-2017 being held at Farnborough, Hampshire in UK from March 7 to 10. He will also visit the Command and Control Centre of the London Metropolitan Police in London.
  • Srikakulam:: Co-Optex offers discount scheme:: The Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers’ Co-operative Society popularly known as Co-Optex launched ‘Buy two Get one Free’ offer at its branch on GT Road on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri. The offer, 20 per cent on purchase of individual pieces will continue till March 28.
  • Tirupati:: Parsons Packaging opens plant at Sri City:: Mumbai based Parksons Packaging, a leading manufacturer and exporter of printed and laminated folding cartons inaugurated its plant in the integrated business township Sri City on Friday. Its Chairman Ramesh Kejriwal inaugurated the plant and it is expected to provide employment to 200 persons.
