  • Visakhapatnam:: 12 swine flu screening cents set up:: DM&HO S.Tirupati Rao said that 12 screening centres have been set up in the district. The screening centres have been set up at KGH, GHCD, NTR Hospital at Anakapalle, Area Hospital at Narsipatnam, INHS Kalyani, Port Golden Jubilee Hospital, the Railway Hospital and the primary health centres at Araku, Paderu and Chintapalli.
  • Chittoor:: Sports city planned:: Minister for Sports Kollu Ravindra today said as part of the smart city development programme, a massive sports city would be developed in 150 acres at Soorappakasam in Tirupati. Speaking to media, he said that a sports complex would also be set up at Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Fire at Visakha refinery:: In a freak mishap, soil waste caught in fire at the HPCL Visakha Refinery today creating panic for sometime. No damage was caused to the facilities as it is a minor incident and put it out within five minutes said sources.
  • Vijayawada:: Panesl to look into recruitment rules:: The State government will constitute a committee to study and make necessary suggestions with regard to recruitment rules. The government will also constitute another committee regarding e-Pragati according to Chief Secretary Anil Chandra Punetha.
  • Vijayawada:: Operate Singapore flights from October 25:: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials concerned to ensure that flights between Vijayawada and Singapore operates from October 25. At a review meeting on Monday, he said that the IndiGo should commence operations under any circumstances. The Customs Department and AAI should take necessary steps.
