  • Nellore:: IT raids on Mastan Rao::* Officials of IT Department conducted simultaneous raids on the business premises of senior TDP leader and APCRDA member Beeda Mastan Rao in among other places Dhamavaram, Isakapalli, Nellore and Chennai. He is the brother of MLC B.Ravichandra.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Temple EO caught while accepting bribe::* Karakahettu Polamamba temple Executive Officer P.V.V.Satayanrayana Murty was caught by ACB red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.60,000 from a person. According to ACB DSP K.Ramakrishna Prasad, the official demanded bribe from a watchman and two archakas for doing an official favour.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Varun Group acquires Taj Gateway Hotel::* The Varun Group has acquired the Taj Gateway Hotel on the Beach Road from Oriental Hotels limited at a price of Rs.120 crore. Varun Group Chairman V.Prabhu Kishore said ‘We are happy to buy the Taj Gateway one of the leading hotels in the city. It opened its five star hotel on the Beach Road (Varun Beach Novotel) in 2011 and a beach resort at Bhimili in 2016.
  • Vijayawada:: Minister orders to clear farmers’ arrears::* Miniter for Industies N.Amarnath Reddy has ordered the Sugar factories to immediately pay the arrears amounting to Rs.48 crore to 41,700 farmers to avoid penal action. Addressing a review meeting at the Secretariat, he said eight sugar factories were to make the payments and unless the farmers got their dues, they would not be in a position to take up cane cultivation in the coming season.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Murty’s body likely to be flown to Visakhapatnam::* The body of MVVS Murty founder of GITAM deemed University who died in a road accident in US is likely to reach Visakhapatnam by Saturday evening according to his family members. The funeral is likely to take place on Sunday and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be coming to the city to pay last respects to the departed leader.
