  • Visakhapatnam:: VPT employees donate Rs.26.9 lakh for Titli victims:: The employees of Visakhapatnam Port Trust have donated Rs.26.91 lakh towards relief and rehabilitation of the victims of cyclone storm Titli. VPT Chairman M.T.Kishore Babu today handed over a cheque for the amount to the Chief Minister.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Manoth long deepotsavam to begin from Wednesday:: Devotees of Hare Krishna Movement are gearing up to organize ‘Deepotsavam’, a month long festival to help devotees perform ‘Kartika Vrata’ at Nithai Gaurangha Mandir from Wednesday. As part of the programme, ghee lamps will be lighted amid chanting of ‘Damodarastaka’ every evening. Kartika masam is also known as the month of Damodara which is another name of Lord Krishna.

  • Srikakulam:: Power supply restored in Srikakulam:: Minister for Energy Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao and Principal Secretary of Energy Ajay Jain today said power supply could be restored in 98% of the areas affected by the Titli cyclonic storm in spite of many hurdles. Speaking to media, they said that all the 4,000 villages except a few in Santabommali and Kotabommali mandals could get power supply with erection of nearly 38,000 electric poles. Ajay Jain said that the department is working round the clock to supply and bring back normalcy in remote areas too.
