  • Visakhapatnam:: Delay in construction of ESI Hospital decried:: Prasanta Nandi Chowdary, a member ESI Corporation Board has said that he would take up the inordinate delay in the construction of the ESI hospital with the ESI Director General in New Delhi. He along with CITU leaders Ch.Narasinga Rao and M.Jagu Naidu visited the ESI hospital project site at Sheela Nagar. They attributed the delay in both the Central and State governments. The delay was resulting in inconvenience to around 4 lakh ESI insured persona and 16 lakh beneficiaries.
  • Visakhapatnam:: AU gets new hospital block:: AU got a new 6,000 sft hospital block that was built with Rs.1 crore on Sunday. MP T.Subbarami eddy inaugurated the facility while HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao inaugurated a scanning machine. Subbarami Reddy donated Rs.30 lakh from his MPLADS Funds while Rs.70 lakh was arranged from the university funds. The new block includes a ten bed ward, pharmacy, store room, doctors rooms, scanning room, operation theatre, dressing room and toilets said Ganta Srinivasa Rao. Subbarami Reddy said that another Rs.30 lakh would be given for the second phase.
  • Visakhapatnam:: National body building tourney from December 2:: AP Body Building Association under the aegis of Indian Body Building Federation will organize a two day national body building meet at Gurajada Kalakshetram beginning from December 2. Ganta Srinivasa Rao unveiled the trophy, logo and website for the championship. Around 250 body builders both men and women are expected to participate in the event of whom about 90 are from tribal areas of the State and its neighbouring States. Five main prizes in eight men and women category each will be awarded. National Judo Meet will be held in the city from January 3 to 7 with the participation of about 850 judokas from 29 States.
  • Nellore:: Trader shot dead:: A businessman aged 40 years shot dead by two unidentified assailants on Sunday night. He was identified as Mahendra Singh. He along with his workers downed the shutters of the shop when the assailants who had come on a motorcycle struck said SP Aishwarya Rastogi. The duo made good their escape even before the shocked workers could react. Business rivalry is suspected to be the motive behind the incident.
  • Vizianagaram:: Director Krish selected for Gurajada award:: Film director J.Krish has been selected for the Gurajada Apparao Visishta Puraskar by the Gurajada Samskritika Samakhya according to its office bearers. It would be presented to him on November 30.
