  • Tirupati:: Srikalahasti temple chief priest passes away:: Seesthanam Sambaiah Gurukkal (84), chief priest of the Srikalahastheeswara Swamy Devasthanam and a member of the Endowments Department’s Agama Advisory Council passed away while undergoing treatment in Tirupati on Friday. He was the brother of Parasuama Gurukkal, an advocate and hereditary priest who was considered an authority on temple rituals and practices as enshrined in religious doctrines. His body was taken to Srikalahasti and final rites were performed with temple honours.
  • Visakhapatnam:: AU to host World Ocean Science Congress in February:: Andhra University will be organizing the World Ocean Science Congress-2019 in association with VIBHA from February 23 to 25, 2019. Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr.Harsha Vardhan released the first Flyer of the Congress in the presence of VC G.Nageswara Rao.
  • Tirupati:: Former Union Minister Chinta Mohan welcomes TDP joining hands with Congress:: Former Union Minister Chinta Mohan said that smaller parties alliance with the Conress will benefit in the long run. Speaking to medi, he said that it would help unite all the anti-BJP forces. He added that the alliance with the TDP would stunt the growth of the Congress in the State which he said, was picking up well but called it a necessity in view of the larger evil in the form of BJP.
  • Kakinada:: Chandrababu will do anything for the sake of power:: Former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar speaking to media on Friday said that Chandrababu may join hands with the BJP again if the NDA government is voted to power in the general elections. He can go to any extent to be in power and he has the tactics to generate public opinion that all his deeds are aimed at protecting the interests of the State, he said and added that he had never gone to the elections alone. He said that late NTR has formed the TDP to fight against the Congress but Chandrababu has joined hands with the very same Congress.
  • Kakinada:: NTR family members must react:: BJP MLC Somu Veerraju today advised the family members of the TDP Founder president NT Rama Rao to ostracise Chandrababu from the TDP as his joining hands with the Congress showed that he was no longer committed to the ideals of the party. Speaking to media, he said that the image graph of Chandrababu had failed following alliance with the Congress.
  • Vijayawada:: ACB to focus on steps to check graft:: DGP and ACB DG R.P.Thakur has urged the government not to give key positions to those booked by ACB. As part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week that had begun from October 29, the ACB was focussing on enlightening the people against corruption by organizing a series of programmes, he said at a press conference.
