VISAKHAPATNAM:: Special cover released:: Marking the golden jubilee of ENC, a special cover was released at a function today. Deputy Chief Minsiter N.Chinnarajappa, MP K.Haribabu, Flag Officer Commanding in-Chief, ENC, Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, Senior Superintendent of Post offices K.S.Venkateswara Rao jointly released the cover.

VISAKHAPATNAM:: Committees formed for the success of Visakha Utsav:: The District Collector Pravin Kumar has said that various committees have been formed to ensure smooth conduct of the three day Visakha Utsav from December 25. The Collector would be the Steering Committee Chairman and VMRDA Commissioner P.Basant Kumar and GVMC Commissioner M.Harinarayanan and Joint Collector G.Srijana would be the Co-Chairpersons.

VISAKHAPATNAM:: Transgenders protest before police station:: A large number of transgenders from several districts staged a dharna in front of Kancharapalem police station today demanding action against president of the Hijra Association Surada Yellaji. Raising slogans against Yellaji, they alleged that he had been using them for various works and making money from it. They alleged that Yellaji and his wife had earned lots of money, gold and other properties through their hard work. They accused the association leader of resorting to land grabbing, threatening people and other criminal activities.

SRIKAKULAM:: YSR statue removal creates tension:: Removal of a statue of former Chief Minsiter Dr.YS.Rajasekhara Reddy at Rajam led to tension in the town with YSRCP MLA K.Jogulu staging a protest. The civic authorities said that the statue was removed to facilitate laying of pipelines and widening of the road near Madhav Bazar. They said that they had informed the MLA well in advance. The MLA along with followers raised slogans against the government and authorities.

VISAKHAPATNAM:: Vakapalli gang-rape case- potency test conducted:: A team of government doctors today conducted potency test on the 13 police personnel accused in the gang-rape of 11 tribal women of Vakapalli hamlet. The Judge of the Special Court following a petition by the special public prosecutor permitted to conduct of the test on the accused. The Resident Medical Officer of KGH has said that the report will be submitted to the court in a sealed cover.

KURNOOL:: Woman dies of swine flu:: A 42 year old woman in Anantapur district succumbed to swine flue on Wednesday. Senior medical officer said that the woman was admitted to the GGH recently. She was undergoing treatment in the isolation ward. However, on Tuesday night, the woman’s relatives wanted to shift her to another facility and requested that she be discharged against medical advice. Even as the process was on, she died in the morning.

HYDERABAD:: High Court pays tributes to Justice Punnaiah:: The Hyderabad High Court Chief Justice Radhakrishnan along with all judges have paid tributes to the departed retired Justice Punnaiah. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Justice recalled the services rendered to the judiciary by late Justice Punniah. He said that Punniah has took up so many agitations on the social issues.

AMARAVATI:: Notification issued for the recruitment of 24 Forest Range Officers:: The APPSC has issued notification for filling up of 24 Forest Range Officers today. The candidates can apply from December 10 to 31 through online along with the prescribed fee before December 30 night 11.59. If the applications cross more than 25,000, the screening test will be held on February 24, 2019. The mains will be held on April 28,29 and 30.
