Actress Jyothi Lakshmi passed away at a private hospital in Chennai today following ill health.
Jyothi Lakshmi acted in more than 300 movies in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The films Bebbuli, State Rowdy, Big Boss, Donga Ramudu and party, Pilla Piduga, Gandarva Kanya, Sita Ramulu, Kalusukovalani, Bangaru Babu are some of the many.
She was suffering from breast cancer and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai a few days ago. She did not respond to the treatment and died on Friday night. She was 68. She was staying with her daughter Jyothi Meena at suburban Neelangarai on the ECR and getting treatment for the last couple of years. Her body was cremated at Besant Nagar crematorium at 3pm on Monday.
Jyothi Lakshmi was born to T.K.Ramarajan and Santavi in 1948 in Tanjavur. She began her film career at the age of 5 years. She acted with Telugu top stars like N.T.Rama Rao,, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Krishna, Sobhan Babu, Krishnam Raju and also with Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh.
