Actor Mohan Babu conferred with ‘Navarasa Natatilakam’ award

Noted movie actor Mohan Babu was on Saturday conferred with the title ‘ Navarasa Natatilakam’ during the birthday celebrations of Rajya Sabha member T.Subbarami Reddy at Indira Priyadarshini Stadium.

Subbarami Reddy who felicitates a noted personality during his birthday celebrations every year conferred the title to Mohan Babu to mark the completion of 40 years of his movie career.

The function was attended by Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha P.J.Kurien, film personalities including Venkatesh, Brahmanandam, Ali, Sri Devi and her husband Bony Kapoor, Jayaprada, Jayasudha, Dasari Narayana Rao, B.Gopal, Raghavendra Rao, singers Yesudas, Minster for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao and others.

Mohan Babu was born to Manchu Bhakthavatsalam Naidu has acted in over 500 movies in lead, supporting and variety of roles in Telugu and Tamil films. He received Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1995 for the movie Pedarayudu. He received Cine MAA Award for Best supporting Actor for Yamadonga, honorary doctorate from University of California, Berkely for his contribution in the field of cinema and education. He was conferred with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award-South in 2016.

He is the co-owner of production companies such as Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures, 24 Frames Factory and Manchu Entertainment. A former Physical Education Instructor, Mohan Babu is a noted educationalist, and operates Sri Vidya Niketan Educational Institutions, and is the founder of Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust.[9] In the year 2007, he received Padma Shri for his contribution to the field of Arts and education.[0][11] He is a former Member of Parliament – Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh after being elected in the year 1995. He was also elected a Deputy into the International Parliament for Safety and Peace, an intergovernmental organization based in Italy.
