AP HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that around 6,000 alumni had registered themselves for the upcoming Andhra University Alumni Meet ‘Waves-2018’ scheduled to be organized on December 10.
It is being coincided with the birth anniversary of its founding Vice Chancellor Prof.C.R.Reddy, Industrialist Ratan Tata’s assurance to be part of the event has given a huge boost to the event, he said. Since it is not possible to adjust all of them in the convention centre, LED screens would be set up outside the venue with covered seating arrangement. ‘ A pylon will be set up at AU Convocation Centre to mark Ratan Tata’s visit to the university.
According to him, around Rs.50 lakh being spent for the event. He informed the media that a database of about 1.06 lakh alumni had been prepared. Events will begin from December 4. All the departments will be conducting competitions in various fields.
