AP MLC Deepak Reddy arrested in a cheating case

An MLC from the State G.Deepak Reddy along with two others was arrested by Telangana police in a cheating case today.

A Central Crime Police team that has been investigating the case against Deepak Reddy for the past three months summoned him to its office on Tuesday. After hours of interrogation, the MLC, his lawyer Shailesh Saxena and his associate Srinivas were arrested.

A criminal case was registered nearly three months ago u/s 420, 468, 471 and 120-B of the IPC against them.

The complainant, a member of a co-operative housing society based in Bhojagutta of Mehdipatnam had approached the CCS alleging that the accused had tried to usurp society land by presenting forged documents. Sources said that nearly seven acres of land was allotted to the society by the Government. The complainant charged that the MLC had got a fake sale agreement made with fictitious names and moved the courts seeking rights over the land, said the ACP of CCS G.Jogaiah.
