Tuesday, June 6, 2017

The Andhra Pradesh Genco is all set to stop supplying of 400 MW of power to Telangana State from the mid night of June 6 following TS Genco not clearing its dues of Rs.3,500 crore.

Sources said that the AP Genco is writing to the Southern Regional Power Committee seeking its intervention in recovering the dues which the TS Genco reportedly refused to pay back and even suspended the supply of coal from the Singareni Collieries consequent upon the AP Genco’s inability to foot its bill amounting to Rs.1,400 crore.

Principal Secretary (Energy) Ajay Jain said that there was no coal supply from Singareni for a month because we could not make the pending payments. It was only after we paid back the entire amount that the coal supply resumed from Singareni. The AP Genco wrote a few letter seeking repayment of its dues bt the response was said to be callous.
