APSRTC union elections – NMU celebrates victory

National Mazdoor Union (NMU) won in the APSRTC union elections with a stiff tuff has been given by Employees Union (EU).

With the counting of postal ballots on Wednesday, NMU won with over 709 votes. The elections that were held on February 18, as many as 55,035 RTC employees have exercised their franchise out of 56,437 and 180 votes were declared invalid. NMU got 24,708 votes while EU got 24,156 votes. As many as 1,029 postal ballets were polled and NMU got 566 while EU bagged 409 votes. NMU came victorious after counting postal ballets. NMU was conferred with recognized status at the State level.

‘Will fulfil all promises’, NMU

NMU State president Challa Chandraiah, general secretary Y.Srinivasa Rao speaking to media said that they will fulfil all the promises given in the election manifesto including merging of RTC into State Government and solvation of problems without resorting to strike etc.,
