APSRTC gets Rs.253 crore during Sankranti

The APSRTC has earned Rs.253 crore revenue by operating nearly 3,000 special services during Sankranti.

The passengers rush that started from January 12 continued up to January 21. The RTC has operated 100 special buses on Sunday to clear the rush. Additional services were run for the last ten days said the Chief Traffic Manager K.S.Brahmananda Reddy. It is operating buses to many cities including Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai.

About 300 off ricers tracked the special operations in the neighboring States. Officials said that 1,200 buses were operated to various districts from Vijayawada which was quite high compared to previous year.

To track regular special services, the RTC issued 230 SIM cards for the officers and posted them at all key points, said Executive Director (Operations) G.Jaya Rao.
